Raspberry Pi 4/3 Camera Module 5MP Webcam 1080p/720p Video

Amazing value for money! Really impressed with its low light capability (see pic) Its not outstanding but its a marked improvement vs. the 4k action camera this replaces which was incapable of showing me anything, or focus, during the darker hours. On this one I can see enough detail during the night time to know its better than the old camera I was using. The focus isn't great but I can read number plates on a parked car within a 15-20m distance which is more than enough for my needs. My advice for using this as a remote CCTV: flash MotionEyeOs to an SD card and have a whole web interface to setup CCTV/motion detection, setup your wifi connection, and switch it on. Minimal setup, web interface... Works brilliantly so far.

Bought to use with a Pi on my 3D printer. Works perfectly well. Although the cable was initially too short, some longer ones were purchased. They worked fine but ultimately I ended up relocating my Pi and using the original cable anyway.

I bought this camera to add to an existing Raspberry Pi to use for Octoprint so I can remotely manage and monitor my 3D Printer. Simply installed the camera (despite the ribbon connector on the Pi being a bit flaky - not the Camera's fault, simply a design choice by Pi) rebooted after installing Octoprint and everything worked first time. Very happy with shipping and product overall. Only slight concern is the resolution / picture quality in low light - but again this is primarily down to the Pi's capabilities - and it does the job I need it to very well.

Bought for son. He got it set up (and I did see decent pics from it) but then it stopped working (within 48 hrs)

They're small and delicate little devices, there's no getting around it...the first one I ordered would power up but the sensor was dead. This is of course besides the point, I got a refund for the dead one and ordered another and it works great. Literally just plug it in, raspi-config to enable it and you can control it from the command line without any fuss. Great for people like me who get stupid ideas while on the toilet, mine is currently attached to a window on our building next to a "hacked" amazon dash button that says "do not press", anybody who presses it gets their photo uploaded to twitter explaining that they pressed the "do not press" button. Not really sure what else to write about, if you're looking at this kind of stuff you're probably interested in it anyway so will know how it works and that £10 for a pi camera is a bargain!

Really, I can't complain for a tenner - I've got one of these hooked up to a Pi3 running OctoPrint so I can keep tabs on the 3D printer when I'm working elsewhere in the house. Setup will vary depend on your individual circumstances, but once plugged in correctly (the connectors on the ribbon cable should face the HDMI port) OctoPrint detected it right off the bat with zero configuration. It's good enough that I've ordered another couple for use with a Pi Zero-W. Picture quality is surprisingly good (see pic - that's what OctoPrint displays) although since it doesn't have IR the camera is pretty useless in low light conditions - since my 3D printers live in an alcove II usually have an anglepoise lamp positioned over the top of the printer to illuminate the print bed and get a decent picture. If you're planning to use this for surveillance just be aware that you'll need to use it in a well-lit area unless you're prepared to either a) buy an IR-capable camera or b) bodge some IR LEDs or similar into place. Mounting is a matter of personal taste - there are four holes on the PCB although I just printed off a little enclosure for it. My only criticism is that the ribbon cable could have done with being a bit longer, but that's nothing that can't be worked around. Crackling little bit of kit.

Was great until the camera was knocked off the PCB! So more mechanical fixings are required.

I have three Pi's one 3B and two 3B+ This camera (of which I now own two) will not work on the b+. A genuine Pi camera will. Both of these cameras work fine on the Pi 3B All three devices are running an identical installation of OctoPrint

La fotocamera funziona. Durante il montaggio sul rpi 3 b+ si é staccato il modulo della fotocamera, però una volta rimontata funzionava perfettamente La scatola é arrivata abbastanza schiacciata

Webcam installé sur raspberry 3. Elle fonctionne plutôt correctement. L'image est correct sans plus, ça bave un peu. Il ne faut pas s'attendre à des merveilles. Un gros défaut persistant est apparu au bout de plusieurs jours d'utilisation : l'image reste noir à la sortie de la nuit pendant plusieurs minutes alors que la cam est exposée à la lumière, comme si le rafraîchissement ne se faisait pas dans ce cas là. Puis l'image revient. Mais bon ça fonctionne pour dépanner.
