Great brew!
Great beer. I recommend brewing this to 20l as 23 is a bit too watery for my liking! Took a few weeks to clear

I ordered this specifically because it was supposed to be next day delivery... It still has not arrived and is now expected I believe, October 4th... Not impressed... Normally I do order this kit and others from Coopers but I am now going to reconsider in the future....

I hadn't used my beer making gear in nearly twenty years so I chose this as a rather basic no surprises expected variety to make some again after the long layoff (summer of 2018). Followed the instructions, used corn sugar instead of their drops for carbonation. Worked fine. Tried a bottle after four weeks or whatever it is they said is the time and it can be drunk but it's really not there yet. Takes three months before it starts to hit its stride and gets better after that. I still have about 12 bottles left, still good. I still had some big name big batch commercial beers in the fridge when the Coopers came of age so there was a crossover period when I would have one or the other and I was impressed by how foul the commercial beers started to taste compared to the Coopers. Would I buy it again? I guess so but given how many other styles they produce to try it's not likely I'll get around to having this one again.

This was easy to make using the kit, a box of Brew Enhancer 1 and a bag of carbonation drops. However the final product was a little unbalanced, with an apple juice taste and a moderately bitter finish that did not seem to fit the style and not much hop aroma. I think it could've benefit from a proper boil--I only used hot water to mix the wort--and perhaps the addition of some finishing hops to give it more flavor. I'm not sure of the cause of the apple taste, since I fermented it on the cold side, but it did improve with age and was gone before I knew it.
