It's a filter that does the job
In terms of the important aspect, which is filtering, it does the job really well. I can smell the chlorine in the tap water, but the filtered water has zero smell or taste. Unfiltered tap water left in a jug in open air gets a bad taste very fast, whereas the water coming out of this filter does not gain any taste even when left overnight. In terms of the 0 TDS, the filter really produces water with 0 dissolved salts (and potentially other particulates, but quantifying those is not possible with in-house equipment). In terms of health benefits, the water with 0 TDS lacks minerals and, in my opinion, is not really healthy long term unless the diet provides supplementary minerals. Unfortunately, that is the problem with a high efficiency filter that filters contaminants such as Lead or Chromium, it also filters the useful Magnesium and Potassium from the water. But with Magnesium and Potassium supplements that should be no problem and, in my opinion, that is a good compromise for reducing the heavy metals and Chlorine from the water In terms of the water PH, ideally, we should all drink mild alkaline water (PH>7), however, I measured the tap water to have a PH ~ 6.5., which is rather acidic and not very good for health at all. Fortunately, the filter does not further decrease the water PH by removing the salts from it, which was my main worry before I decided to buy it. The pitcher is terrible though. The lid does not close easily and the whole top bit wobbles and I worry one day when I am tired I will spill all the water on the floor. Brita's pitchers are much better designed in terms of assembly, but you do not buy this filter for that, but for its potential for filtering, which Brita is not good at. Overall, I would say the filter is great, but if you buy it for staying healthy and filtering the nasty stuff from the water, you should do a bit of research on how to supplement the minerals that are lost due to filtration. If you just care about the taste of the water, then the filter is great.

Absolute game changer
I had been using water filter bottles for on the go for some time and wanted to extend this to water I was boiling and using for ice too. After much research, I decided to go for the zerowater filter due to the fact it also removes fluoride where many other well known filter brands do not. I'm really impressed. The first use I realised I hadn't screwed it on tightly enough but second attempt was spot on. The water noticeably tasted better immediately- and my dog who usually snubs our tap water (despite being filtered to an extent) is now happily guzzling the filtered water too! To all the reviews that talk about the smell/taste or shelf life of the filter I would say read the information properly. When the water tests at .006 you need to change the filter- it was noticeably different when it hit this marker and I suspect other reviewers have not paid enough attention to this point. Regarding how long a filter will last, that depends on the quality of your tap water to start with. Ours was in the orange zone of first reading and therefore lasts about 15-25 gallons - or for us about 20 days for two adults, a dog and a lot of ice! Maybe that seems pricey but the differences I have noticed in health since filtering water are worth 10x that. I haven't had a migraine in three months, after suffering with them monthly without fail for over a decade. My head also feels clearer generally and my sleep is better. So glad I found zero water- am recommending to everyone I know.

Terrible design
As advertised it does give you zero water excellent quality filtered water, the problem I have is the pitcher or the jug as we call it in the UK, when filling it up you need to remove the lid physically take the lid off lay it down somewhere while you feel the judge unlike others where it is on a hinged lid, when you fill the jug you cannot pour any water into anything or use it until it's actually filtered through because it has a two-part lid the front part of the lid has a very flimsy poor fitting rubber seal which allows unfiltered water from the upper part to be poured out with the filtered water, when pouring water out it's not a very good pour if you're tipping it up you have to be quite gentle otherwise the stream will start to spread out and be uncontrollable , the actual handle on the jug itself isn't too bad It's not very well balanced but it's okay, when you fit a new filter you must make sure you hold the filter at the bottom and do it up as tight as you can otherwise water leaks between the top container and the filter not very good design at all. As for the water quality tastes amazing and as stated it has zero dissolved solids . To be fair I only bought this type of jug because I wanted it to go in the door of my fridge if I had more room I probably would have bought the round jug as it looks a better build but again until I see it I won't know it's just a shame I have to spend my money waste my money first before testing the product. If I was to compare this to a Britta filter jug the jug alone not the filtering capabilities I would say Britta wins hands down.

Perfectly fine water filter
My thoughts after 1 week of use: - The pitcher is functional and well-built. Just make sure you let all the water pass through the filter before pouring it out into another jug which you can then store into the fridge. - The 1.7l pitcher fits in the door of a regular (i.e. small) British fridge. - The filtered water tastes a bit "flat" and "heavy" (no strong taste, rather a "sensation") - definitely not "better" than tap water. Add a few drops of a concentrate to remineralise it and experience a day-to-night change. Remineralised filtered water tastes as good as your best spring water imho. Overall I'm happy with our purchase. No comments yet on the filter lifetime. Our tap water in North London shows 290-300 ppm using the bundled test unit, definitely on the hard side of the scale.

Good product but could do with lasting longer
Bought this as I wanted water in a purer form for my family. This particular water filter jug is of an ideal size for fitting in a fridge door and also came with a water purity meter so you can see the parts per million in your current tap water compared to how much lower it is after have being filtered. Good quality, but not cheap. I find myself having to replace the filter cartridge between every 15 - 20 days as after that the water starts tasting chemically. Would be 5 stars if the filter lasted longer.

Filters don’t last long
I was recommended this water filter and on first impressions it seemed really good. The water jug is easy to set up. Filtration is a little slower than other systems I’ve used but the water tastes very fresh once filtered. However, after only 3-5 days, the water takes on a metallic taste. On day 6, it smells really fishy and tastes bitter. I contacted Zero Water customer service via online chat to ask how long the filters should last, and I was advised depending on the condition of my tap water (reading 298), determines how often I need to change the filter. So in this case it’s every 3-5 days, which turns out to be extremely expensive. This is why I’ve only rated it 3 stars.

Best water filter on the market
Brilliant product cannot fault the quality in any way. Have also purchased this zero water filter for friends and family who love it as well. The filters last about 3/4 months and we use it for everything. I wouldn't even boil an egg in our tap water here in the UK. We also give this filtered water to our dog, which he drinks happily. If he has tap water he prefers to go outside and drink rain water, which for us says a lot alot the quality of our mains water. Having a test stick is brilliant as you can regularly compare and test the water compared to mains and bottled water which is 100% reassuring. Our tap water test at around 90 to 120 ppm which shows how bad it is. Bottled water is even worse. Ive seen someone has put that the unit cost 70£. This isn't true, it is just under 40£ and I don't believe this is an authentic review and this is why I am leaving this one. I honestly believe this is the best value for money and quality filter you can get on the market today

It does exactly what it promises to do!
I have to admit that I was prompted to re-think water filtration after seeing a review of an up-coming documentary on the "fatberg" - a giant blockage in the sewers consisting of - well let's just use our imaginations. Whilst I am unsure as to whether our waste water is currently re-cycled back as tap water, I do know that there was a "consultation" launched by London Thames Water in 2013 reported by the BBC. The outcome? Well, that hasn't been revealed (as far as I am aware), which makes me suspicious. I also noticed a distinctive build-up of limescale in my Britta kettle yesterday and I had only changed the filter around three weeks ago (it doesn't get used much). Anyway, back to the product! I had relatively little difficulty with screwing in the filter - it's a bit like a light bulb. It's important to screw it in properly, otherwise water will leak down the sides and won't get filtered - in my excited rush to get going, that happened the first time. I decided, out of fairness, to compare it to my tap water and a brand new Britta filter to see if / what the differences were. These were the 'purity' readings. I am using the word 'purity' because I am no expert :) Tap water - 338 Britta filter 170 Zero Water. 0 I already know that my tap water tastes disgusting, so I didn't bother tasting that. I did taste the Britta water against the Zero Water and I can honestly say that I could tell the difference - it tasted cleaner and fresher. I am enormously grateful to the previous reviewer who suggested filtering the water first with a Britta filter - I have a stock of them and it will obviously prolong the life of the Zero Water filters. I understand other reviewers comments regarding the price of the filters but they are clearly much more sophisticated when you see them. I also understand that their cost may be prohibitively expensive for many people. It is a lot cheaper to live off family-sized packets of custard creams (yum) than it is to buy wholefoods. Unfortunately, healthy living does come at a financial cost (in my experience anyway). I think this may well be the longest review that I have ever written. Size does count - sometimes ;)
