Not just beautiful
I splurged on this jar because it looked so beautiful. I have several mason sprouting jars going at all times, and thought I would test this out. I love it. Not only does it outshine my other jars in looks, it works better too! The shape allows for a better swirling action for gentle rinsing. It also keeps all the seeds from sliding down against the screen when in the stand. This results in is better air flow, and less clumping. The ceramic tray washes up better than the plastic ones I have now too. Bravo on all counts! I will be buying more.

Item is fantastic!
Shipping, not so good. The first one had a broken ceramic base because the plastic air pouches were not protecting all sides of the box and the ceramic base was broken most likely because of it. I returned it. Amazon wrapped it exactly the same way and... the ceramic base was broken that time too.*update* The Sprout House came through and went the extra distance to provide me a replacement ceramic base! Amazon support on this wasn't that great but Sprout House was awesome. I think it's the best sprouting jar out there.

My favorite sprouting jar I've found.
This is certainly the prettiest sprouting jar I have found on the market. Some have complained that it is small, but I am only sprouting for myself, so it works. I think it would produce a sufficient volume of sprouts for 2-3 people who want a fistfull of sprouts on their salad or sandwitch daily, as long as you are watering/growing them daily.Structurally this jar is pretty sound. I like how there is only a little plastic involved. The only problem I've had is that the steel lid is "glued" to a plastic ring that screws onto the jar. This pulled apart the first time I used it, which caused the screen to come out. I was left with three pieces that should be easy to put back together, but for some reason the way I've done it makes the screen bow out a little, instead of being flush and flat like the picture shows. It doesn't effect the jars ability to grow sprouts though. Also, When I rinse the sprouts, I have to rinse the square ceramic piece as well, because it catches sprout water that can turn into a nasty little cess pool if left on the counter too long. It's still my favorite sprouting jar on the market that I've found, especially because of the frame that helps the sprouts to drain (one less thing to worry about). I used to have a jar with a green plastic screen. I much prefer this one.

Great Sprouts!
I tried this sprouting jar to get my wheat grass started. I also used it to grow fresh bean sprouts. It really works well. The screen is built into the lid, not just inserted and the lid is heavy duty. Both the glass container and the ceramic base and heavy and well designed. The overall design is excellent too, allowing the seeds to drain well. This is the best sprouter I've had (after trying 3 others) and I plan on ordering a second one so I can do both wheat grass and bamboo sprouts.

Love it!
My husband has two of these. He uses them to sprout his wheat grass and has them in rotation so he always has fresh grass available. They are very easy to use. Just rinse the sprouts and drain, then put them in the stand to let the rest of the water drain out. The seeds sprout in an amazingly short time. So happy with this that we gave them to 3 people as gifts, and they were all delighted too.

The Best
This product is well worth the money if leaving it on your counter top. The jar and stainless lid are first class and look fantastic on the ceramic base. I ordered the plain mason jar type with the plastic lid previously. I was not happy that I had to spend half an hour removing the ugly labels nor was I happy about one of the plastic lids which was broken. I would purchase these again and recommend them to others

Arrived with a broken base
I'm sure I would have loved this item had it arrived intact. But, as other reviewers have mentioned, it arrived with the ceramic base broken. I sent it back.

Love the sprouts
We love sprouts and this glass jar, stainless lid with cradle and ceramic dish is easy and efficient to use. You can do your rinsing of the seeds with the lid still on. Just don't over tighten the lid and you won't have any trouble with it. We use two tablespoons of seeds to get a full jar of sprouts.
