OJYDOIIIY Fishing Rod Repair Kit,Rod Building Kit and Supplies,Wrapping and Winding Machine for Epoxy Drying

I had no idea I could have one of these that works so well for this little money I really like using this little machine. It operates smoothly and is very quiet, the speed control works perfect from much slower than I need to faster than I need and everything in between. I bought the foot control model it is perfect for winding threads and the switch on top lets you run continually to get a smooth coating over the threads wound onto the rod you can apply a thick layer without runs or drips. The chuck works just fine but I’d like something adjustable the elastic bands hold the rod well but it would be nice to have an adjustable chuck. There is a chuck that adjusts listed on Amazon but none of the listings show it being used on the winder itself so I’m not sure if it would work, if it does I’ll buy that too in a heartbeat.

Im no problem but would consider myself a frugal diy kinda guy. I had a couple guides that needed replaced in a few rods and this machine was great. It has speed control and reverse direction. The only suggestion would be get the one with the pedal, use a switched extension cord or have a helper. If working on the far side of the rod its hard to turn it on if wrapping thread and control it. If only using for epoxy then no need. It kept things looking like a respectable repair job for me. I secured the motor to my workbench with gorilla tape and the adjustable roller table worked perfect. Would recommend.

It is a very good product for the price. It is not for serious rod builder but great for beginner like me. I've used it about 15 times. The "chuck" works well but you are very limited regarding the size it will accept. My only issue is the pedal cord is not long enough to work past about 5 feet from the butt so it doesn't reach the end if you put it on the floor. You can put it on the table and lean on it with your forearm but a PIA. I bought another without the pedal just for drying a second rod. My only issue is that the chuck has become a little bit loose on the shaft and it wobbles slightly. Works fine if you keep an eye on it and lightly push it back in every so often.

Great product for a hobby. Everything worked great to build a salmon rod. Surprisingly good quality and very portable for a great price. It has reverse, forward and variable speeds. Decent torque...it was exactly what I needed

Great for the hobbyist. Motor is very quiet. I have already repaired 4 rods with no issues. Initially the unit kept falling over so I used double sided tape to mount it to the tabletop. It is a non-issue.

Nice but no instruction manual. Have one piece that I have no idea where it would even go!!!!! Had nothing on how to use but is a nice set. I'll figure it out somehow!!!!!! If it would have come with instructions, I would have given a 5-Star for sure but just couldn't do it.

I purchased this for applying the epoxy over my thread wraps and it works perfectly. The only thing I did was I took some of that blue painters, tape and taped the motor down to the table just to stabilize it. I’m 100% happy with this purchase..

I am not a professional rod builder or rod repairman. I am simply a guy who loves to go fishing! I sometimes tend to go fishing with friends, we bbq and drink beer. Those days I catch more of a buzz than fish, however, I say this because I don’t always take the best care of my rods and reels! I have my few rods and reels that I’ll take when I know it’s more of a hangout, than a catch fish type of day. Over the years I would replace the guides and just do the best I could. Eventually seeing these little gadgets and I finally decided to buy one! The price on this exact model was $40. WITH the foot pedal!!!! Can’t beat that price! The little machine works as advertised!! Plug and play, the moment you take it out the box. In the rear is the connection ports, along with speed control and direction control. The top red button is off, and or pedal control. Turn it on and it rotates non stop on its own (like a set it and forget it, for drying I guess). If you do repair your rods or want to customize your rod, this little gadget is all you need!
