the sound is good for a radio of that size
I bought this for my mother as she wanted a small radio to use around the house. She is thrilled with it! As far as she is concerned, the sound is good for a radio of that size, as is the reception. The radio also has a clock, sleep timer and a way in which to set your favourite radio stations. These features I can't review as she doesn't use them. The only point to remember is when turning it on, to hold down the "On" button for a second or two as if not, the sleep timer will automatically set for the available maximum 90 minutes (timer can be adjusted), but it's not a problem and an instruction booklet is included in the box. A good little radio and great value for money.

Surprise
I recently and immediately returned the XHDATA D-808 I bought from Amazon because it didn't receive any stations on short wave, airband and lw as detailed. I got this radio as a test to see if any shortwave stations could be picked up. Firstly.... This is a cheap radio and you get what you pay for. LW....you can just hear radio 4 with a lot of hiss... Nothing else. MW.... Quite good at night....continental stations easily heard. FM.... Not stereo through headphones...picks up weak stations but, powerful signals bleed through. SW... It does pick up stations....scan is quite good and the frequency listed is correct....lot of hiss as there is no filter. Picked up a Australian station broadcasting to Africa in Hindi... And just managed to hear the oceanic broadcast of Radio new Zealand although all I could hear, through the hiss, was the bird Id sound. So overall a nice wee test piece. It's not a swl DX radio, but it was for me, a nice way of checking that short wave is still around. As a FM and mw radio....its OK. Good value for the money?....yes.

Potentially a good radio, but has power management issues
Nice compact radio, looks ok, sounds ok, it's not amazing but ok, not terrible, has a clock and an alarm setting, also memories but the memory function is quite fussy so didn't get any real use. The biggest issue with this radio is power management, the rear of the radio suggests 250mA, using it with two new AA alkaline cells shows the radio struggling to function, it's backlight was dimming and within an hour those too were unable to power the radio. Analysing the batteries showed they had hardly been drained at all, just the radio circuits needed more than was possible with these batteries. I also tried a 2000mAh phone charger rated at 500mA, via the 5v dc usb socket but this only lasted 20 minutes before the radio stopped functioning. In my view this radio is barely usable.

Great Little Radio
This is an excellent radio for it's size and does everything that I wanted it for. It can use rechargeable batteries and comes with English instructions, Reception is quite good and the sound ok for a small speaker. I initially ordered a Tecsun which I sent back due to faults. I think that the Tivdio is ten times better for a third of the cost. Very pleased so far.

Okay...ish.
Works okay, to use in your pocket with earphones isn't the best as I found without the aerial extended it really struggled for signal and this is mostly why I got it. I'll have to get another and use this as a spare but it is a good radio, just not what I needed.

Not much use on batteries, weird user interface
Wouldn't buy this if you intend to run it on batteries. The batteries in the analog FM radio, that I bought this to replace used to last 2 months. They don't last a week in this. Now binned this and bought a £6 FM radio from Tesco, sounds better tunes better. Battery use was so bad, had to keep it plugged in. Just turning on/off required multiple button presses with random results. Had to keep rescanning.

One of my best purchases!
I'm SO HAPPY! I've found a little radio that receives Radio 4 and it didn't cost me a bomb. In fact I got it at a discount! I tried out so many radios, including the posh names, but they were so hard to tune in and then the signal kept moving. This little character is happy wherever I put it. It's sound is really quite acceptable for its size, and being so small I can take it around with me and use the alarm for more than waking me up in the morning. This is possibly one of the best purchases I have made for years!
