The Shape Song Swingalong (Barefoot Books Singalongs)

I have several of these Barefoot Books! My students love them. They are very affordable, especially since they come with a CD. Also, there are versions of ALL of these books free on YouTube. You can create a playlist and show it on a Smart Board, great for end of the day while dismissing students. If you don't have a Smart Board, (parents) you can view them on your phone or on iPad.

I am an elementary music teacher. I teach all the regular K - 5th grade students and I have taught autistic children for the last six years. I am always on the lookout for materials that will interest kids who are profoundly autistic, often many are non-verbal. This book is one the best I've come across. It deals with concrete ideas, clear pictures and it's just a well written and nicely performed piece of music. I use some musically marginal material that works for these kids but this is music I enjoy myself and so do the support folks that work with these kids. I haven't gotten around to fitting it in with the rest of my curriculum but I'm sure Kindergarten would love it too!

All four of my grandkids ages 4, 2 1/2, 22 months and 15 months love this! Especially the 2 middle ones. They go through the book pointing at the shapes and singing the song. I found myself singing today after my granddaughter had left!

This is an excellant book. The music that goes with the book is very engaging for children and families to sing together. I teach 3 to 5 year olds and this book was such a big hit I just had to buy it.

As a preschool educator that values literature and childrens books-nothing is sweeter or more charming than Barefoot books- My only "criticism" - the songs and melody get stuck in my head!

I am a daycare teacher for 18 month to 2.5 year olds and they love this book. Both the song and the book itself is captivating for the children. The songitself gets stuck in your head and I have even found that a few of the older children will be singing the shapes as well. Great way for kids to learn a few basic shapes! Would recommend for toddlers and especially 2.5-4.5 year olds.
