![Overlord [DVD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81y7NN3NKtL.jpg)

All 13 episodes of the animated series based on Kugane Maruyama's light novel, directed by Naoyuki Itou. When it is announced that the virtual reality game Yggdrasil will soon be taken offline, one person decides to stay and spend the very last moments of the game as their dark wizard avatar, Momonga (voice of Satoshi Hino). But when the time of deactivation passes and Momonga finds himself still active in the game world, with the non-player characters exhibiting personalities of their own, his true quest begins. Now he must travel this world looking for answers about what happened, and whether anyone else from the real world is still there, all the while using his magic guild to rule the world. The episodes are: 'End and Beginning', 'Floor Guardians', 'The Battle of Carne Village', 'Ruler of Death', 'Two Adventurers', 'Journey', 'Wise King of Forest', 'Twin Swords of Slashing Death', 'The Dark Warrior', 'True Vampire', 'Confusion and Understanding', 'The Bloody Valkyrie' and 'Player Vs Non Player Character'. Review: Fantastic ***Possible SPOILERS ahead!*** - ***Possible SPOILERS ahead!*** I absolutely loved Overlord, to the point that I was genuinely heart broken when I hit the end of the season. I was hooked and cannot wait for the next season. The Blu-ray packaging is all fine and the anime is dubbed if you require that. There's a few 'real life person gets stuck in a fantasy RPG realm' anime series's around today. If you like things like Log Horizon, you'll enjoy this. I've not watched many anime series' within this niche genre, but this one seems to have a good unique (unless there's others I've not found) selling point of having the bad guys as the antagonists, who then become kind of the good guys despite their scary, evil, monstrous exteriors - like a nice, friendly, helpful, fair, Horde in WoW. Overlord transports its antagonist into the role of a guild leader he'd played in an RPG MMO which was due to have its servers shut down. Instead of the servers shutting down, our main character is integrated with his in game character. The world is different to the one they'd played on, with the player character and NPCs alike all not recognising the place. The series spends a lot of time trying to explore this strange new world. The guild master and his subordinates begin doing work for, and helping, the local human population, trying to get the lay of the land and gain some goodwill and influence. The main characters are all quite likeable and they're well fleshed out for the most part. The storyline is good and will keep you hooked. You'll probably cry when you get to the end of the season, but here's hoping there will be plenty more to come. There's some small fan service type bits, for those into that sort of thing. Whilst there are some compulsory ads, I do not mind them as they often show anime series' I've yet to discover, though my wallet hates me for that. I've bought a few shows I'd only seen via these types of ads. Review: Great - Absolutely one of the best isekai dark fantasy series ever. I series like these it's different it's usually it is a hero but it's about dark overlord who wants the world.

Incredible
I find Japanese anime to be hit and miss, some series are absolutely brilliant, others I think drag and bore me to tears. Overlord falls into the first category. It is incredibe! There is humour, action, violence... everything I want in a show. The story is amazing, and whilst there I'd other person trapped in a video game shows out there, none do it as good as Overlord in my opinion. It actually feels like you're there with Momonga as you follow is adventures! If you're looking for a new anime to get into, this one is it!

Great case ruined by poor packaging
Series is great and the case artwork is great but Amazon delivered it in the same box as a case of drinks with nothing to protect the dvd from the cans resulting in the case receiving visible dents and it feels worse than if it was a normal case because it’s a limited edition

Good show
It’s a very good anime season which is currently airing its 3rd season. It may not be for everyone. I prefer watching it in Japanese but this blue Ray means I can watch it with friends without them losing interest.
