Great USB Sound Device
TeckNet USB Audio Adapter External Stereo Sound Adapter Aluminum with 3.5mm Speaker/Headphone and Microphone Jacks For Windows and Mac, Plug and Play, No drivers NeededThis USB sound device came packaged in a nice sturdy box, no nasty plastic blister pack in sight which I hate. The device looks to be of good build quality, it has a stereo output for headphones or speakers via a 3.5mm stereo audio jack, it also has an input jack for microphone or line in using another 3.5mm stereo audio jack.I plugged the device into my USB slot & within seconds it was recognised with drivers automatically installed. I plugged my headphones in, the jack plug fits tight so no problems with movement which usually means crackles in the sound! No such problems with this, I played some music, the sound was crisp & clear with no hum, buzz or crackle - very impressive for such a small device. What I did like about this was the sound seemed natural, it wasn't artificially bass heavy, so if you wish to record something you should get a more natural sound to the recording.I have an old laptop which has been upgraded to Windows 10, the problem with it is that I can't find any Windows 10 drivers to enable the on-board sound to work, this device solves that problem so my old laptop is now usable again. I'm now a very happy bunny!A very impressive device, just plug it in & it works with no fiddling or fuss - I thoroughly recommended this!

An Excellent Little USB Sound Device
This is a tiny but perfectly formed USB sound adapter. My PC, like most, come with one inside but all the cabling goes round the back so having this on USB that could be popped into the front was a boon.It arrived in a compact little box that fitted through the letterbox and was fully frustration free - no annoying sealed plastic that takes your hand off to open it.The device itself doesn't take up a lot of space and worked within seconds of plugging it into my PC running Windows 10. I tested it out with a 3.5mm jack headset and a microphone and both worked in all the usual places (skype, google hangouts, gaming etc). The sound quality from both the (admittedly not expensive) PC headphones and mic I have were very good. I popped in some decent headphones to test music and the sound was great. Also in the box was a simple user guide (it really is as simple as plug it in and off you go) and a 2 year warranty. It's a very simple to use, inexpensive piece of kit that is fantastic for not-a-lot of money.

Weird microphone input
This has proved useful to give my laptop a separate speaker output and microphone input for conference calls. It's pretty solidly made, and "just works" on my Macbook, without any driver worries. It's powered by the USB port, and doesn't need any mains adapter. Two slightly annoying things: first, it sits flush against the USB socket, and is quite wide, so any ports immediately next to it on the laptop are blocked. Second, the (mono) microphone input works but - I found out through much trial and error - it's wired to the _middle_ connection of the unit's 3.5mm jack socket (i.e. the 'ring' not the 'tip'). I ended up soldering an adapter lead ('tip' of a 3.5mm stereo socket to both 'tip' and 'ring' of a plug) to get my tie-clip mic to work. It does supply 3V DC power, so electret-type microphones will work.I expect many people will return units as faulty because of this. Mine wasn't actually faulty, just wired in a crazy way.

Does what it says on the tin for a great price
I was really impressed with this product, mainly because of the flawless functionality and build quality for such a low price. The product is very simple, in converting a standard USB port to two 3.5mm jacks, one for audio output and one for microphone input. This is especially useful for hooking up headphones/microphones to devices which lack the normal ports, or perhaps have a broken port. There is audible feedback through headphones while using this adapter over plugging them straight into the normal headphone jack, so no functionality is lost at all. The casing is metal and very high quality, and the packaging, as always with TeckNet, is very simply and eco-friendly! 100% recommended.

Superb little audio adapter.
Superb little audio adapter.Simple plug n play setup which seamlessly works within seconds.Audio control is simple, you can control volume by the headset you are wearing, the adapter takes control of the PC volume and auto mutes external speakers. To regain sound from speakers you need to remove the USB adapter completely and not just unplug your headset.Pros:+ Small and strong unit+ Seamless plug n play setup in seconds+ Good audio quality, dependant on headset/earplugs used+ High quality packaging+ Easy sound output from most devices equipped with a standard USB port+ Very low cost deviceCons:- None, it does exactly what it says it will!

Good adapter but rather wide.
I've attached this to my Lenovo laptop to replace an iffy sound card, and it seems to work fine on the earphone out socket. I've tried it with headphones and cheapo speakers, and the sound is pretty decent, restricted by my speakers rather than the device itself. It's a nice solid adapter, in a good heavy aluminum and is probably tougher than it needs to be...My only gripe is the width of the adapter - it covers 2 USB sockets and I don't have that many on my laptop. To be honest I could have done with just the single earphone out rather than with the mic in, and that would've allowed a slimmer unit.Kudos as ever to the TeckNet packaging - minimal and easy to access.
