Well I can't tell you exactly how many decibels it is, however it it at least as loud as a normal household hoover.

Q: Does the machine use hot or cold water?

It uses the water you pour in. I use warm.

Q: Can this help get rid of cat fleas out of upholstery

Hi first of all I would spray the upholstery with a strong home cat flea spray which all vets/pet shop sells. I would wait a few days then use this vax machine. The machine will then clean the upholstery and suck up the dead fleas and their eggs.

Q: Can you use the cleaning solution that you use in your Vax platinum smartwash

No Problem with it but I prefer vax cleaner
