Fits S&W Hi Power like a glove
Got this for my Smith and Wesson Hi Power. Thought it would work, gave it a shot. It is perfect. Love the black leather with the look of the gun. And it wears well on my belt. Good purchase.

Get your box cutter out
Nice, well made holster. Like another reviewer said, it's not molded for cocked and locked carry, which of course is the only way you should be carrying a 1911...... 1 minute and a sharp knife fixes this, but come on guys.

Great fit for 1911s
I got a new 1911 double stack and this holster works great. Make sure to use a zip lock bag to help with the fitting of the gun.

Sandpaper for your gun
The leather very quickly starts getting pilly and the smooth finish is gone. This essential turns the leather into low grit sandpaper and scratches at your beautiful 1911's finish.

Matches my 2011 perfectly
This is a great holster. Needs a bit of a stretch like all leather holsters but worth the effort

High quality, very well made
This is the third version of this holster I've bought from Desantis. As with the previous two holsters (Glock 20, Ruger LC9 w/ laser) I really have nothing bad to say about it. This one is for my Springfiled lightweight operator 1911. When you first get this holster it will fit your gun a little tight. The more you wear it the quicker the holster will break in. Once broken in it fits like a glove and is very comfortable to wear.

Comfortable holster
Very comfortable.. this fit my full size 1911 no rail perfect, beside the trimming needs to allow you to carry with the safety on locked and cocked… who carry’s an empty chamber not cocked? this will not fit a 1911 with rail such as a Springfield operator. That is what is actually purchased this holster for.

Works great.
Bought this to carry all metal (36 oz) gov. 10mm 1911. Carries the weight great and has just the right amount of cant on it I have a number of DeSantis holster and never had one that didn't carry the gun well, high and tight.
