HURRICANE HAZE 1DX (HHAZE (HHAZE 1DX)

We've had this almost a year and have used it once a month for 5 hour events. I was worried it wouldn't be strong enough when we moved to a larger venue but it was fine - more than enough to make the lights look great. I suggest putting a small fan behind it to speed up distribution, especially in a larger venue. (don't put the fan in front as it will get gunked up with haze juice and die). 5 hours of moderate to high usage only uses maybe 2/3 of the tank so no need to bring extra to the venue with us. We use Froggy's Beam Splitter haze fluid and a gallon lasts us several months. Maintenance tips: I noticed recently that it seemed to be "leaking" in the back. The real problem, though, was that the sponge at the exhaust vent was soaked with haze fluid after 5 hours of use and was gradually leaking back into the machine. So from a maintenance standpoint you should remove that sponge after each use, then rinse it a few times with water and let it dry before replacing it. The spot it fits in can just be dried with a paper towel. Wish I'd realized this sooner as it would have been healthier for the machine and avoided the minor rust I am seeing now. One last thing - love the size of this thing. It's actually smaller than most fog machines so the output is really impressive.

On a shoestring budget, bought this when I couldn't rent a haze machine. Really worried because I was filming in a massive room (40 feet wide, 120 feet long, 30 foot ceiling.) I was hoping it would at least haze the area right in front of where I was filming, but this thing EASILY hazed half the space! Maybe 25-30 minutes of running to do that. Another 15 minutes and the WHOLE room was hazed. I was also worried that it would use the 1 gallon bottle of haze I bought with it, but I ran it probably 5 hours over 3 days and it barely used half of its little tank. And I only used the highest setting (3) to get the room hazed, then I dialed it back to 2 or 1 to maintain. (I used a little fan sitting right in front of the outlet to help blow the haze.) Really, really happy with it. Don't forget to buy the cleaner fluid so you can clean it when you're done. Ensuring good performance. Well done Chauvet.

Awesome product in a small package. Downside is it WILL NOT stop leaking. If you plan to travel with this as part of your rig, be ready for it to leak any time you move it. Don’t know where it comes from and I’m not shaking or tipping it. drives me crazy. If it’s a stationary fixture at a venue, you’re probably fine and it works really well.

I am a multimedia director for a church. So looking to give the lighting a different look I decided to buy it. Since the stage is quite large and the ceiling is very high, at first I doubted that one unit of this product would not be enough and bought two. But the truth is that I had more than enough. Even with just one unit I felt that the effect was already quite noticeable. Using both units at the same time I had to put it on the lowest level as it filled the entire stage. It was very easy to use. The product does not include a controller. But you don't really need it because you can adjust the amount according to the space and time of use. As for the noise, I could say that it is not that loud. But if you have to record an interview, noise may enter the microphone if it is too close to the character. I think in the future they should add an optional use hose so it can be used away from the character. In my case this is not a problem. After depositing the liquid and connecting it, it will take about 15 minutes before it is ready to emit the haze. I am quite satisfied with the result. These machines have become part of my essential tools on every shoot. MY advice is that you should read the user manual to avoid misuse and damage.

I only use it 3 times, and all the 3 times was for short amount of time, because I was just testing it for a music video that i had to shoot, and it stopped working, only the fan turn on, no haze, leave for hours still do the same, I saw the others reviews, I see it is now only mine, if you was thinking on buying one don't buy it you will regret.

I have used his a lot. It works great even on DMX.

Nice consistent fog. They seem to work fine. They are a little tough to get working right out of the box. You need to squeeze the tube to prime the pump. This may take 3-5 min when the unit is brand new. Hasn't seemed to be needed since.
