The clip is well secure and it charges a descent mk 2 without any issues. Previous proprietary connect was no where near as secure as this clip. Wire is of good length. No complaints and fairly durable.

Excellent budget option for my Garmin mk2i

Once upon a time, I got an extra cable for my MK2i because I ran off to go scuba diving in Mexico and totally forgot my charging cable on the nightstand. I put it in low power mode for non-diving activities, but still ran the battery dead in my last dive of the trip, cutting my data short. I vowed, never again, and the most effective way to assure that was to just throw an extra cable in my scuba kit. Unfortunately that was cut short when that cable randomly decided to end its miserable useful life somewhere in the 30-90 day window. At first I was worried my mk2i somehow got busted, but no, just the aftermarket charging cable. So yes, I have tested other aftermarket cables. So far, this one is good. If you're reading this months from now and I haven't come back to change the review to something like "this is terrible, died within 90 days", then it's because it's still alive and kicking.

got this for my descent mk3i. as my primary diving computer it's critical for me that i can charge it when i need to so having spare cables is important. as of this writing this is $10 or ~40% cheaper than the stock garmin charging clip. it is compatible with all the current descents from G1 to mk3. so it seems good value for money. the trade off is that the plastic used is definitely of lower quality than the stock charger (which has rubberized plastic), but this does not affect its ability to charge my watch reliably. unlike the garmin fenix charging cables which can be loose due to poor/imprecise manufacturing by 3rd party cable makers, the clip really eliminates the biggest failure point and makes even imprecisely manufactured cables to work reliably. unlike the latest descent chargers (which use usb C), it has a usb-A plug. i don't think this makes a difference in charging times, and would rather slow-charge the irreplaceable batteries in my expensive smart watch.

Works like t should with my Garmin Descent MK3i. The only difference from the original supplied with the watch is the clamping pressure is a little weaker. Other than that it’s basically the same but with a standard USB 1 male end instead of USB C which is what Garmin supplied.
