CRESSI Nepto Watch Computer Green - Freediving Watch/Computer, Green, One Size, Unisex Adult

The watch arrived safely, and it comes neatly presented inside a well-designed retail box, nice enough to give as a gift to someone. The watch is made in Italy. The overall quality of the dive watch is very good and for its size its quite lightweight (approx. 70g). Its well-made, the watch and strap/buckle both feel durable, the buttons are nice to press, the display is sharp and easy to read, and in general I’m very pleased with the quality. I got this watch at the perfect time for my holiday to Croatia, so I managed to give it a good go when I went swimming in the ocean. Having never used a watch of this type before I found it quite addictive looking through all the statistics and logs. Before diving, you can configure a multitude of settings in the dive set menu; these include Taravana protection (8 levels or off), bloodshift (maximum dive depth, 30-120m in 5m increments), surface time alarm (1-10mins), depth alarm (10-120m in 2m increments), diving time alarm (10sec – 6mins in 10sec increments), indicated depth alarm, hydration alarm (30mins – 4 hours), water salinity type, and logbook saving frequency (every 0.5, 1, & 2 seconds). When under water the screen is very clear, easy to read and you can easily see and hear both the visual and audible alarms. While diving the display shows your last max depth, last dive time, surface time, the number of dives, and the current temperature. Once you come back up the surface screen appears which consists of multiple pages detailing your dive/s as well as displaying how long you need to wait before diving again. Overall, I think this is an excellent dive watch and its packed full of both performance and safely features to look after you while you go diving. At around the £250 mark I feel it represents good value for money considering what this watch can do when compared with a normal watch. Cressi are a well known and trusted brand in the dive community and this watch is another excellent product from them. It’s a product I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel it’s worth the full five stars, buy with total confidence!

This arrived in a small square Cressi branded box with a plastic window in the front displaying the watch. Inside you have three booklets, a warrantee, safety information and an instruction booklet. First impressions: this watch in my opinion has a really nice look to it with the green rubber of the strap rolling nicely round the dial and also being trimmed with the white logo and Nepto name. I did think although the strap feels nice thick strong rubber the metal catch could have in my opinion been thicker metal and perhaps lock in with double insert pins or a release lock catch. The watch does not come with any sort of case at all which I thought a bit disappointing. The dial illuminates green on holding the select button for a short time and not only lights the dial up well, it also matches nicely with the rest of the watch. The instructions are very detailed and all functions are adjusted, set and cycled through with either a short press or holding either one of the buttons depending on what you are setting. This does take a while to get to the desired section even when you are used to the menu system. The watch does come with a PC mode and a QR code to get the Cressi application for PC and mobile device although you do need the interface which isn’t included in the pack and requires a separate purchase. I tested out all the features which are quite comprehensive and in my opinion making this watch fine for both casual diver (as I would class myself) and a more experienced/advanced diver. I was not able to test the features in a live environment as my next dive isn’t for several months, but if I do find any issues with any of the features I will revisit my review and add them. Overall this is a nice looking watch and certainly feature packed, I like the look of the watch and it is certainly comfortable to wear. I don’t like the strap fastening catch and feel they could have been better thought out. The watch does have supporting applications for storing logs etc but the watch does not appear to have inbuilt connection and needs an additional interface to use them. Overall a nice watch with great features but in my opinion it also has quite a few negatives.
