I enjoyed the drawings as well! Review: A "FUN" Resource for a Difficult Topic - Let me preface that I have been doing research for years as I did research for my thesis and my dissertation. I also have taught some research to beginning nursing students. I do not find research and the statistically analysis a particularly easy topic to learn or to teach and that is why I am excited about this book. First of all, it is a comprehensive resource for both research methods and statistics as the two are integrated. In fact, there are examples of research methods and the statistics methods that should be used with those methods so that clarity of what should be done and how is nicely explained. The book is also "fun" and I know that rarely is the word "fun" often associated with research and statistics but this is a fun book. It is nicely illustrated with a cute little stick-like character that explains things as you go through the book. The explanations are funny at times and any time you have humor with learning, I think that makes learning fun and in fact, easier. I have to say that I wonder where this book was when I was struggling with learning research methods and statistics? I think I might have had an easier time of it. However, the resource is here now and I will be using it to help my own students get a handle on this important topic. I want to thank the authors (Janie H. WIlson and Shauna W. Joye) for writing such a wonderful resource for both students and for faculty who teach these topics.

A "FUN" Resource for a Difficult Topic

Easy to read, engaging and makes many research topics easy to understand.
The book has everything you need. It includes a website for support and is SPSS compliant. As a psy-D major I find this book useful. I do well with research because I truly enjoy it and even though math was never my strong point, I oddly always found statistics easy to work with. This book, for me, was just for keeping me up to date, and possibly show me a new way at looking at methods. It accomplished that so it was worth the money. The book is not dry like most text books, instead it is engaging and easy to read. Any time you find an educational book like that, it’s a keeper

Great statistics reference tool
I work in medical publications (articles about clinical trials), and my statistics knowledge is limited. I ordered this book primarily as a reference book for when something comes up that I don’t understand. So I tested it out by looking up a few phrases in the book’s index and then seeing if the information on the pages answered my questions. It did. But it goes beyond by truly being a teaching tool. It shows understandable examples of how to carry out certain statistical formulas, as well as when to use each one and why. This is going to come in very handy.

Belongs in my reference shelf
I wish I had this book when I was studying research methods for my masters. This textbook is easy to understand and will not put you to sleep. It's also more affordable and more portable.

Great book for undergrad stats/methods
This book was straightforward and easy to follow with fun example problems. The SPSS/Excel screenshots and illustrations were a nice touch too! I'll probably keep this as a reference for research classes.
