Shimano Spinning Reel 17 Sedona 2500S

Update: Have fished this reel several times and my remarks are still the same. Went fishing yesterday and caught my limit of trout. The smallest was 9" and I did release that one (not in the picture). The rest were just under 14" up to 17", on the same UL rod as before. Casting is superb. Both reels (Sedona 2500S) are fantastic and I have no regrets about buying them. I have a different make/model reel of the same size but the drag was so inconsistent with a fish on that I had to play with the drag constantly. The drag on both my Sedona's (2500S) are smooth and consistent. When set properly (4lb micro braid and 4lb leader), these reels can easily handle a good size rainbow trout.Original: I wanted a reel that balanced on my St Croix Premier 7' UL, and the Shimano Sedona 2500S comes real close too. I have a 2500HG that I like and that works well with mono. I wanted to try a thin braid without having to load up my reel (2/3 capacity) with backing and add a ton of shims under the spool. This reel fits the bill. I put Sufix nano braid (.003") 4lb test on it and I must say I am rather impressed with the casting distance of the lighter weight lures. Best guess on distance is 75ft+ with a 1/8oz pins minnow, and further with similar weight spoons.Using the Sedona 2500S (same 4lb line) on my St Croix Triumph 7' ML (2pc) I can cast 1/2oz (dock fishing for Rainbow trout using powerbait) well over 75yds. Specs are true to advertised capacities and smooth right out of the box.I have a second on it's way that I plan to put some Varivas PE on for a variety of fishing (trout, steelhead, pink salmon, light inshore...). I have a spool of this like on a Shimano Scorpion BFS XG and I can watch my lures just sail out there.Been using Shimano reels (18+) for a long time and haven't had much if any issues with them. I have used others (daiwa, abu garcia, piscifun, penn...) and keep coming back to Shimano. Would love to be able to afford a Stella, but this will do nicely for many, many, many years to come.Anyhow, these are my thoughts and opinions on the is reel. Bottom line is I like it for thin braid.

この値段でこの性能は驚き。これ、2台目なんだけど、最初の1台はスプールの下にある名前分からないけどワッシャーみたいなやつをなくしてしまったら糸が斜めに巻かれるようになってしまって調子が悪くなったので安いし買い換え。

17セドナ、発売されてモデル末期ですが、発売当初BBモデルかアルテグラ以下は不満がたまりそうで買う気はありませんでした。今年2500Sが思いのほか安かったため買ってみました。実物見てなかなか渋いシンプルな外観で、おっかっこいい、おまけに巻き心地が良いのに驚きました、13年頃のセフィアBBより手に伝わるノイズは極めて少なく、しゃおしゃお音はしますが実釣で特にメバル釣りで潮に乗せて流し糸ふけをとるだけの釣りなどでも使えそうです、２万するリールの個体にもスプールが下向き又は上向きのスローリーリングでコッとわずかなノイズが混じることもあることを考えるとこのお値段でまともに釣りができるなんて良すぎます。ベイルを起こしたときの逆転防止のフリクションリングを釣り具店で注文して取り付けました17アルテグラの部品で275円でした。釣りは趣味であり自己満足の部分が多く高価な物はよいのですがちょっと高すぎませんか？このセドナでアジ、メバル、ライトゲームに実用十分な気がします。あとシマノのスプールを上下させる機構が上位機種と違います、糸の巻が上位機種に比べて中央部分が引っ込み型の逆樽形になる傾向があるようです。これは機構上ダイワでも同じなのでしょうか、ダイワにロングスプールがないことも？あくまで個人的なシマノの上位機種機構にもハイギャーになると下向きあるいは上向きでスプールが重力で方王に寄っている場合コッという巻きノイズがある個体が多いような気がします。写真には2500Sと4000XGの大きさ比較、動画は軽量化スプールゆえか案外シマノにおおいシャオシャオ音が入っています。実釣中は聞こえないので手に感じるノイズさえ無ければ問題ないのですが。もしナスキーの進化が値段が高くなっただけなら値段のこなれたセドナももしくはサハラも選択のなかにいれてもよいのではと思います。

エギングで使いやすいサイズでシャロースプールで飛距離も出ます。これで何杯も釣り上げましたが2年くらいでハンドルの芯が折れたのが残念でした。
