These pergola brackets were the perfect choice for a durable, DIY structure. The decision to build my own pergola with treated lumber and these brackets has paid off, as it has held up exceptionally well through this year's monsoon storms, unlike many pre-fabricated kits. A key point for other builders is that these brackets are designed for 6x6 lumber. If you're using 4x6 posts, you will need to use wedges to ensure a tight fit. Although the metal is a bit thinner than I anticipated and some paint chipped during shipping and screw installation, these minor issues haven't affected their performance. I am confident in the quality and strength of these brackets and would highly recommend them.

looks nice. easy to use. only complaint is that the seams are a bit weak. partially my fault, assembling solo and just trying to get it standing, and my project was leaning before i secured it well. had 3/4 of a square done, and it ended up falling and one of the brackets got twisted and damaged. i like them, so ill be buying more to go on bottom pieces too and get a good stable bottom this time, before going vertical. but i wish the seams were more durable.
