8oz Lee Brand Pho Broth Mix (Gia Vi Pho Bac), Pack of 1

Soup is a mainstay in my weekly meals and a spoon of this goes in most of them. It makes an excellent impromptu pho - loaded with noodles & vegetables & meat ; or just a plain cup of broth to sip on. It is less salty than bouillon of the same amount.

This taste great! i made pho in home for the first time and my family was pleased as I was too I may never buy pho out again cause mines taste so good thanks to this blend. Great value for the money good quality ingredients smells like shrimp

At the restaurant, the pho broth costs $7 / bowl. I use 1 1/2 scoops of the baby spoon they include in this... and... it's better than what's available at the local restaurants. Buy this. Get fancy if you want and get strips of thin cut beef. If you want to go ultimate-mode, buy beef tendon from your local butcher and boil them for an hour or two. Cut them up. Use a couple and freeze the rest so they're ready for next time. BOOM! You have virtually instant combination pho.

Item was as promised and made all my dishes taste a lot better when added to dish.

I bought this to make making pho easy for lunchtime. I boiled some water, maybe about 3 cups and added a couple teaspoons of the powder to it. It has a delightful herbaceous odor... like their is some tarragon and other herbs in it. I then dropped in my meat and veggies to create a delightful soup. I'm sure this has way too much sodium in it for daily use but you only live once.

Add 1/8 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice and it’s perfect

My wife bought this from a nearby Chinese grocery store for much cheaper, thus the low rating for price in this review. First impressions was it smelled too strong of cloves. I know it doesn't have any star anise but could possibly benefit from it from a better smell. The taste was actually much better than I anticipated due to the strong clove smell. It does taste close to legit pho and the clove smells didn't hinder the flavor for me. The instructions aren't clear but it says to add a two "spoons" of the power to 3 cups. The included spoon is just the shape of a folded plastic teaspoon (not a measuring teaspoon) so it is hard to tell how much to add. I just added one rounded spoonful to 1.5 cups of hot water and seemed to be the right amount for me. I wanted to be able to have my wife have some of this because we are trying to conceive and star anise is not safe for pregnancy, but I realized that this product has too much MSG. It's listed as the 5th ingredient on the list out of 11 ingredients and I am very familiar with MSG so I can really tell it's there. Thus the lowered rating for this product. Due to the properties of MSG, you can add it any subpar product and make it taste leaps and bounds better but the danger to your health from consuming MSG is simply not worth it. If they can produce this product with a similar flavor without the MSG, I will give this a glowing review, especially since it would be the only pho I know of safe for pregnancy.
