So I read some mixed reviews about this bag. It looks great and is very well made, spacious and high quality. It did smell like many have said when I opened if but I cleaned it with an orange oil based cleaner and let it air out for a couple of days and now it smells like leather with a hint of oranges. The color was as advertised as well

Absolutely gorgeous. What a beautiful product. Exquisitely crafted. Super elegant. I'm amazed that such a well-made, high-quality product, made of genuine leather, is so affordable. Regarding what other reviews mention about the smell, yes, it does have a scent, but it smells like genuine leather. It's not a bad smell, it's just the smell of natural leather. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This bag is very nice and super functional. It has a green lining inside and comes with a leather shoulder strap that crosses to two hard brass triangular rings so the bag won’t fold in the middle like a taco when you have to use the shoulder strap. It’s expandable and roomy enough for probably seven days or so of clothing and the two pockets on each end are also large, as well as the two pockets on the length of one side of the bag. You will get a lot of compliments on this bag. The hardware is super strong but you will need to break it in some and not expect it to snap back closed like a dog leash initially, but once you break them in they are great. It should be noted that before you use this bag, you need to air it out well and I put a couple of dryer sheets in it to counter the odd smell that it came with. The last thing you need is to travel somewhere and your clothes absorb whatever kind of smell that is prevalent upon the arrival of this beautiful bag. It takes a week or so for the bag to air out and you’ll be good to go after that. The leather is goat skin and it does have some weight to it, but it’s not overly heavy and seems to be basically indestructible. I only wish it came with a toiletry bag that matches. Some brass feet on the bottom would be nice as well to keep the bag off wet pavement and such, but this bag doesn’t have that. You’ll likely never buy another duffle bag again if you get this one.

Yeah, it has a chemical smell when you unwrap it. It's LEATHER....leather is tanned, that process is smelly. The bag has been wrapped in plastic wrap and has been sitting in a warehouse since it was assembled......That said....This is an awesome bag! It's real leather, not that fake pleather....One little funny with the bag I received....One shoulder strap is thicker than the other. That doesn't matter nor bug me. It simply tells me that the straps came from different pieces of leather. I'm not a small guy. 5'11 360 lbs. I'm a delivery driver and have two overnight routes per week. Thus, two hotel stays per week. The bag is perfect for a days change of work clothes. My toiletry bag, shave kit, medications, phone charger, my collapsible silicone teapot, a Tupperware container of teas, a bottle of honey, the book I'm reading that week, a book light and a few other daily use items. TMI? Nah, just trying to give perspective on what it holds. The chemical smell really dissipated after 2 days. Just let it air out. If it really bugs you, try putting the bag into a large trash bag with some charcoal brickettes and tie the bag for a few days. The charcoal will absorb the smell. Just be careful not to let the charcoal stain your beautiful new bag. The front desk guy that I see every Thursday even commented on my new bag yesterday lol. Seriously. For the last 8 years I've used a backpack with an internal frame. It did the trick but was a lot heavier than this duffle. The hardware is sturdy, not flimsy at all. Some reviewers complained about the zipper. If it gets " sticky" simply rub some ivory soap along the zipper. That'll have it working perfectly. The zipper.didn't seem flimsy to me, it's a nylon type material, not metal. I absolutely love it. The leather even matches my messenger bag I use for my paperwork.

This is a pretty good bag. Good leather, thick, well made. Good zippers and thick handles. I was not thrilled with the color. It looked more distressed in pics. Overall, I’m pleased.

Beware! This is not leather. I bought this as a raffle item for our end of year celebration at work and didn't open the box until a week before the event only to smell a horrible paint or glue odor from this bag. Also, it looks like it had shoe polish on it and in certain areas it had spots. I am so embarrassed about this raffle item.

Right out of the packaging it's a bit smelly. I cleaned it with leather honey leather cleaner, and that smell nearly completely vanished. Good quality, looks good, and a great price!

El diseño de la maleta es bonito pero tiene un olor desagradable que no se le quita ni oreándola días enteros a la intemperie, tengo otras prendas de piel como chamarras y ninguna tiene ese olor, no se si se deba a que es piel de cabra. Si eres sensible a los olores la maleta no es para ti, si eso no te importa dale, es bonita y con buena calidad en su manufactura
