ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.............
I am 68 years old and have trouble sleeping through the entire night. I read an article online (Dr. Oz) about how pure cherry juice has a good deal of melatonin in it. Melatonin induces sleep and helps you to sleep in a deeper state. It is supposed to also relieve joint pains. I have been drinking a 8 oz. glass of this product for about a month, maybe more and here is what I have noticed. I definitely sleep much better than before and through the entire night most of the time. I feel much more rested the next morning. I am able to bend over and pick things up from the floor easier then before and my lower back pain due to a compressed disc in my lower spine has been relatively pain free. My finger and wrist joints feel more flexible than before and with less pain. Now I suppose this could all be wishful thinking but I don't think so. All I know is when my body talks to me now, I have less pain and just being able to sleep better makes this product worth it's expense. When something I purchase works well for me, I don't mind laying out a few more bucks. By the way, this tart cherry juice is just that....TART...but you do get used to it. You can add a bit of sugar or splenda and it tastes just like cherry pie. Actually the Montmorency cherry is the basic go to cherry for classic cherry pie. A sweeter cherry juice is black cherry juice. It tastes very good and you might receive the same benefits from it as you from this juice product. This tart cherry juice does seem to work better for me than the black cherry juice. All I can say is try this product and see if it helps you with your health. The benefit I like best is ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.........!

Don't fall for fad "health food" price gouging
UPDATE #2: July 18, 2014 - still over $39! I called the manufacturer, they have not raised prices. Sams Club still selling for $26, and you can buy direct from manufacturer for $26. You know what? If when the freight is added on, if it's $1 or $2 more than Amazon, I'm buying it from them anyway, just on principle. UPDATE: Bought last case directly via Amazon/Prime on May 22 for $27.95. Today, June 10, it's $39.59. That's a 40% HIKE. The growers have not raised cherry product prices by 40%!!!!!!! Maybe the "health food nazis" HAVE discovered this, but some of us need it for serious medical conditions, and we are being gouged by GREED. Just because you CAN GET THAT PRICE, doesn't mean you should. Shame, shame, shame! Sam's club is selling this product today for $25.98. END UPDATE I've used this product for 5 years, it is great! This is the type of cherry juice that is tart & dark. For some, it's too tart, so they add sweetener. I mix it with 2/3 water and try to consume 60-90 oz/day for urinary tract alkalinity and help fighting off a drug resistant infection. That's up to 3/4 of a bottle, so the cost per ounce is of utmost importance to me. When I first started buying this it was 7 cents per ounce. I moved to a different area and my local grocery stores don't carry Indian Summer, and the other brands were inferior and up to 4 times the price. So I began to mail order, getting free shipping from another retailer. When that free shipping ended, I moved over to Amazon and bought a prime subscription to get free shipping. It comes in a case of 8 48-ounce bottles. The case pack is now up to about $33, though some sellers want over $60. But Amazon is not direct-selling it now, so my prime does not apply. Shipping doubles the cost for me, I can't afford it that way. Well, it seems the greedies of the world have figured out how important this is to many of us as a 'natural remedy/health food', and have hiked up the prices on cherry juice to 10-15 times what they were. The most recent incident of this is Amazon now carrying a new brand now that is over $30 per BOTTLE, claiming it's a "concentrate". Indian Summer Montmorency Cherry is a great product. I highly suggest you try it. Maybe shipping to your location from the vendors here on Amazon will not double your cost.

This really did help with my insomnia!
A friend of mine posted on Facebook that having Montmorency tart cherry juice daily helped her with insomnia. She said she'd heard the idea from Dr. Oz. I've been dealing with insomnia issues now for several months, years maybe?, and haven't really found anything that helped much. I have used one homeopathic remedy - Hylands Calms Forte - which has sometimes helped my mind relax enough to get to sleep, but when I woke in the middle of the night again, I'd be awake for hours sometimes still. I really didn't want to ever go on prescription sleep aids due to the side effects of some, the addictive qualities of some, and the disoriented, groggy feeling I hear that many create. I really prefer to be as natural as possible for things that go into my body, so trying a pure juice with no added sugar sounded like it certainly couldn't hurt, even if it didn't do what I'd hoped. I've been amazed and delighted to see that this has really worked for me. Like I've told some friends, I don't know if it's a placebo effect or not, but I really don't care. I just know it has worked better than anything else, and it tastes really good to boot! I don't like really sweet juices. This one has a nice tart kick to it, but still sweet enough to be tasty. The first night after I had some, I slept better - not fantastic, but much better. As I continued with it, I was finding that I was getting sleepier faster at bedtime, and even when I did wake up in the middle of the night, I was back to that wonderful feeling (that I faintly remember from my good sleep days) of being sleepy enough to go right back to sleep - which I did. I went 2 days without any because I simply forgot, and that 2nd night, I was having some trouble sleeping again. So, I got back on the wagon and things got better again. I've been using this for about 3 weeks now. There are still very occasional times when it takes me a few more minutes to get back to sleep when I do wake up, but it's sooooo much better than it used to be. And I love that it is all natural, with many healthful benefits, and I don't have to resort to putting manufactured chemicals/drugs in my body. I have read something about the fruit juices with citric acid leaching from the plastic bottles, but it was hard to find the right juice in glass bottles, plus the price for this one was so much better. I have since found another brand that carries montmorency cherry juice concentrate in glass bottles, and when I did the math, it actually is quite comparable when constitued, or even better priced than this one, plus it was suggested that with a concentrate, you can put it in your plain greek yogurt or in smoothies, or on pancakes, which sounded good. So I did order that, but haven't received it yet so I can't say anything about it or compare it to this brand yet from experience. In the meantime, I'm happy to use this brand. It's very good tasting and I look forward to my daily dose - and it does wonders for the sleep!!
