This is an excellent product. It is solid, well made, beautiful, functional, and for my needs corrosion resistant. While my intended use does not require a lock, others do. Some of them have criticized the hasp by noting that (as it is delivered) the bolt can be unscrewed, thus twisting off the bolt and opening the hasp. This is certainly true, but it is by no means a fundamental flaw, and it is easily remedied with a drop of thread lock cement before installation. See, for example, "Loctite Heavy Duty Threadlocker, 0.2 oz, Blue 242, Single" available from Amazon, or almost as good, a drop of super glue. It is further noted that even if the bolt were welded to the retaining screw, 'time honored' burglar methods such as use of a pry bar would probably be just as fast as twisting off a lock. From my perspective, this hasp is not intended to be a burglar proof method of securing a door, and it is a perfectly fine product for ordinary hasp applications. In a final note, I want to express the highest praise for the seller, "Marine Parts Depot". My order was sent by USPS mail with tracking. Postal Service Tracking reported that my order had been delivered, but by mistake it had not been delivered to me. After it became clear that I would not be receiving the order right away, I contacted Marine Parts Depot via email through Amazon. Marine Parts Depot responded IMMEDIATELY apologizing for the loss and shipping me a replacement. They did this without waiting for the USPS to track down the problem. This hasp is a great product sold by an exceptionally responsive and customer-oriented seller. Buy it with confidence (and if you want a little extra security, during installation apply a drop of super glue or thread lock to the screw holding the bolt).
