Plays same songs over and over and over and over
UPDATE: I fixed the song formats to all fit within the supported ones, and it now works properly. Big tip I discovered: do not switch it to shuffle without turning the whole thing off first. I'm using it without shuffle at all, just to ensure it doesn't screw up. So far so good, and it's lasting a complete hike which is about 6 hours. I haven't tested it beyond that. Now I'm perfectly happy, and moving the star rating to 5. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After I finally figured out how to turn it on and off - the lights give no clue, and I ended up having to review the user manual a few times - I was very happy with how the player just clicked onto my shirt. The buttons are also good because they are clickable rather than a screen, and can be clicked without taking the player off. I also had no problem loading all my music. HOWEVER... the darned thing only plays about 20% of the music I put on it, no matter if it's in shuffle or standard mode! I hike, and am currently doing 5-6 hours at a time. The battery holds up, but there's only so much of the same 40 songs I can listen to repeatedly without groaning. It makes the whole thing pretty useless. I don't have a problem with the sound quality. While it's not that of noise canceling headphones, it's clear and the volume control is fine too. I'm hiking rather than working out, so I can't speak to any of those other aspects. I'm pretty disappointed because of the limited music it self-selects.

Nifty!
This is a neat little mp3 player for the price! Simple instructions and functions, very easy to use and holds a bunch of songs. Personally, I love to shuffle my playlists. Brings back the days of MTV, FM radio or the K-Tel compilation records, when there was no rhyme or reason to the order of the songs. It was always a grab-bag. That's what this little player does so well. But, you can turn that feature off, so everything will play in downloaded order, too. No downloading apps or spending 5 hours to figure out the 472 steps to the one feature that you want to turn on. Just: On/Off, Shuffle/No Shuffle, FWD/REV, Music/FM Radio. If all you want is simplicity and quality at a reasonable price, this is the player for you. In fact, after just a couple of weeks using it, I bought another as a back-up!

Astoundingly unreliable, but functional MP3 player
Revised AGAIN 2/8/22 Replacement for #5 died after less than 45 minutes of use. Garbage. Revised 2/3/22 REVISING MY REVIEW-WAY LOWER. In the last YEAR I have had to buy FIVE OF THESE THINGS. The longest serving one lasted about 4 months. The shortest was about 4 days. These things work well while they work, but 110% will absolutely stop working abruptly. These things are positively horrendously manufactured. No QC whatsoever. That being said, if you don't mind having to return one every month, go for it. Here is how all of mind abruptly died: #1: 3/11/21 -5/5/21: Flat stopped working. #2: 5/18/21 - 11/7/21: LOUD Feedback, then abruptly stopped working #3: 11/14/21 - 12/21/21: Charging port MELTED #4: 12/22/21 - 1/22/22: MELTED again #5: 1/27/22 - 2/3/22: LOUD feedback, then abruptly stopped working. I will never order one of these again after I get the replacement for the most recent one. ___________________________________________ Overall, this thing is pretty damn good for 20-something bucks. I would give it 5 stars, but there are just two quirks that drive me crazy. Cons: -Repeats songs (With 500+ songs, I heard the same song 3 times in 30 minutes on Sunday) -Lag between songs is 2-3 seconds. Doesn't seem like much, but when you're exhausted and need that beat to keep pushing, a lag (and thus hearing your own breath for a second) can take some air out of the sails -Like others have said, make sure you turn it off. There is no auto-off of on/off switch (you hold play button to turn on/off), so you have to remember to turn it off. Pros: -Easy as heck to load -Excellent battery life -Good volume and controls -Great replacement for an iPod shuffle, especially given that used shuffles are going for 80+ on Ebay

Not for audiophiles, but nice, simple interface for workouts.
I have used the IPod shuffle for years along with the SanDisk Clip Jam more recently and I love this player more than these other ones for two primary reasons: the interface and the price. The buttons on this player are very accessible even with it clipped to my waistband under my shirt. Volume up / volume down / next / previous and pause / play in the center. Very easy when you're running or working out. The buttons are large and responsive. There is a shuffle on/off slider on the side along with a radio/mp3 slider on the side. And if I drop it during a workout, I'm not out $100. The silicone sweat cover is good too in my opinion. I wish that it had a "lock interface" or "hold" physical slider too, but this is not often a problem with this player. It has a good charge time. How long exactly, I don't know. I have yet to have it run out of power on me mid-workout. I wish that it came in black. Blue is currently the only color I know of. Also, there is a faint, periodic, audible "click" in the background. I'm no audiophile. I don't much care about this. I don't hear it when music is playing, but during "dead air" in tracks, I can. This could be due to my headphones, I don't know. But it is there for me. I'd buy them again for sure.

Simple, Compact, and Sounds Great – Love It So Far❤️
After spending a couple of days with the AGPTEK G02 MP3 Player, I can confidently say this tiny device has made a big impression. As someone who was just looking for a simple, no-fuss way to listen to music on the go, this MP3 player checks a lot of the right boxes. Pros: * Easy to Use: One of the best things about the G02 is how simple it is to operate. Loading music onto it is a breeze—just drag and drop from your computer like a USB drive. There’s no complicated syncing software or learning curve. * Compact and Lightweight: Its compact, clip-on design makes it ideal for workouts, walking, or commuting. You hardly feel it’s there, which is exactly what I was hoping for. * Good Sound Quality: For such a small device, the sound quality is surprisingly solid. I’ve been enjoying my playlists without any distortion or major quality issues. * Shuffle Works Well: The shuffle feature does exactly what it's supposed to, playing a random mix of your songs without repeating too often. * Budget-Friendly: It's a very affordable alternative to more expensive devices, and offers great value if your main goal is just to listen to MP3s without distractions or extras. Cons: * Basic Interface: While simple is a plus for many users, it has no screen and controls are very minimal. There’s no album art, and navigating larger music libraries could be a little tedious for some users. For me is fine ans simplicity that was what I was looking for. * No Bluetooth: If you're hoping to use wireless headphones, this model doesn’t support Bluetooth, which may be a dealbreaker for some. For me is perfectly fine. * I can’t comment on Durability and Battery Life (So Far): Since I just received the device yesterday, I can't speak to how long the battery lasts between charges or how durable it is over time. I’ll need more time to evaluate these aspects. Conclusion: So far, I’m loving this amazing little MP3 player. The AGPTEK G02 is ideal for anyone looking for a simple, lightweight, and affordable way to listen to music on the go. It’s easy to operate, sounds good, and does exactly what it promises—nothing more, nothing less. While I can’t yet speak to its long-term durability or battery performance, my early experience has been very positive. If you're not looking for bells and whistles, and just want a reliable music player that gets the job done, this one’s definitely worth considering.

Ordering Song Playback Is A Big Headache
Got one of these two years ago to replace the discontinued Shuffle. I had tried a similar product right before that crapped out after only one run. I also bought a SanDisk ClipJam I saw at a retail store as it seemed more durable and has a brand name I am familiar with and trust. I prefer the Agptek. I like to download from CDs and I like to have the albums and songs played in the order I load them or be able to easily arrange the files/folders in the file explorer on my computer. This was possible with the Agptek and it has lasted 2 years of sweaty 5 mile runs several times a week. It took a drop from counter-height onto hard floor recently, it glitched, and I was afraid it would die soon. I saw that it is still available and I bought another just in case. The unit's lightweight, plastic construction does not inspire hopes for durability, but, hey it's lasted 2 years! Unfortunately things have apparently changed with the programming functions, and that is why I cannot give a better rating. A little background: the main reason I disliked the ClipJam is because making and ordering my playlists is extremely frustrating with that product, and it is very difficult to operate its controls when "on the run". By contrast, the Agptek kept whatever order I loaded and is easy to use by feel, though the controls are a little sketchy and very basic. This new Agptek (why do they use these nonsense names? Is it like prescription pharmaceuticals or something?) will apparently not order everything in the sequence loaded, but alphabetically, or by number. I haven't found a workaround other than to rename every file with a number, which is super tedious. I'm going to try creating a hierarchy of folders but doubt it will work and it shouldn't be this hard. I was going to say if ordering your songs is no big deal to you then no problem, but some other reviews indicate the shuffle algorithm is weird, too. I guess there aren't many of us runners who don't want a big phone strapped on, are averse to bluetooth, and actually like to listen to music in the order the artist intended.

Good alternative for iPod Shuffle
I was a shuffle user for years when running. I was burning through them every few months and Best Buy was replacing them with the $10 warranty I purchased but then they decided to stop giving excellent customer service and make this my problem that had to be resolved with Apple directly so I ended up ultimately finding a company through Amazon that waterproofs Shuffles and sells them for a few hundred $$. I ran with one of those for a few years and it was awesome - until it quit working... Same company still does that but surely there are alternatives to that type of $$. I found this and ordered it. If you are a Windows user, you can take a playlist in iTunes, highlight and copy, then paste to a folder on your PC - it will copy the songs on the list into that folder and then you can drag drop onto this player. Controls are different than a shuffle but you quickly get used to everything - it's volume up/down, pause, next/previous track - all the same as the shuffle just different positions. The FF through music does not work for me but I can live with that. When this breaks I will buy another one for $20. Great for running - good volume. Battery lasts quite a while.

Simple to use. Mechanical buttons. Can operate by feel.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This thing is super easy to use. Not a lot of unnecessary "features" that you never use. It plays MP3s, and doesn't have a touch screen that navigates away or changes songs or stop from accidental contact. It also sounds good. Battery life is also good.
