I finally figured out, after the second shoelace, that my cat liked to gnaw on (not eat!) the "fun", loose end of the dress shoes shoelaces (the cat ignored all other shoelaces for some reason). These are a great alternative! Also, no more annoying shoes to tie. Dress shoes become slip-on shoes, and I can only assume that is everyone's dream (ok, at least my dream). I should note, they aren't the easiest to install, so I use pliars to pull the 'T' through the eyelet so that I'm not putting so much pressure on it. I broke 2 before finding a method that worked for me. Thankfully they are cheap and there were more bands than shoe eyelets. It's the nature of the product though- if it were easier to put them in, I don't think it would be as good of a product (ie, they would fall out). I definitely recommend these, and will keep ordering these for all subsequent dress shoes! Review: They beat the heck out of shoelaces. - I hate shoelaces. They are a little fiddly to install, and I actually tried to remove a set from some old shoes so that I could reuse them, and gave up after about 5 minutes and ordered another set. I had used the old set for a couple of years with no problems, so they seem pretty solidly made, which is unsurprising for a piece of rubber.

They beat the heck out of shoelaces.
I hate shoelaces. These work in my "work" shoes and look good. These are great, makes putting on shoes easier. If I had to say a negative, maybe they could just be a little tighter.
