Easy terrain solution for gaming
Bought the trading camp for use in Necromunda. This arrived yesterday afternoon and is now fully built and ready for use within a couple of hours of landing on my doorstep.I was looking for terrain for gaming. I had looked at plastic terrain, it would look better and be more hard wearing but would require a bigger investment in time to get it on the table and costs a lot more. MDF terrain is reasonably priced but again takes time to build and paint to get it on the table.I enjoy painting miniatures but never enjoy painting terrain, tried building my own terrain from videos online but just wasn’t happy with the end result. The card in this set is good quality, there were two parts I rushed slightly and the outer laminate started to come loose but it glued back down and there is no visible damage. The online video with assembly instructions was easy to find and follow.I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend more time gaming, it’s quick, easy and good value. I will definitely be getting more of this to fill out a bigger table.

Know what you are getting
As a miniature painter and wargamer, I don't think that I am the target audience for this product. I am used to hard plastic terrain that is fairly robust. I decided to try the Battlesystems as it appeared to be good value. First of all there are no instructions provided, apparently a conscious decision made by the company. This would be okay if the build was intuitive but this isn't always the case e.g. one building requires the shelving to be in place to hold it together, which I found out by watching a YouTube tutorial by the company. Even following this, my version barely resembled theirs. I found that some of my models self destructed while I was struggling to put them together, the front peeling away. The large storage containers looked okay but are not really big enough for most of the 28-32mm figures that I generally use. If I got them in, there was a danger that it would fall apart again. The ruined alien catacombs was pretty easy to put together and may get some use as background. To be fair to Battlesystems, this is designed to use with Core Space, which I know little about and probably works really well with that? Also, I haven't put cardboard models together since about 1970 and I wasn't very good at it then!? And if it works for you, it is really good value. Just not for me.

I struggled a bit as I was a newbie but once I found the video it was easy
Easy to assemble , strong enough to stand a model on . Good value and with the necromunda market looks really good

Overpriced printed cardboard
Value for money is definitely not there. The terrain itself is quite cool and well thought out but £50 for a handful of sheets of printed cardboard to me is far too overpriced, much better off investing in a 3d printer which are quite affordable these days and just printing my own terrain, I expected much more quality for £50.To assemble there are no instructions so I had to find the instructions/tutorial on YouTube, the printed surface usually ends up tearing off the cardboard when slotting things together making for a cheap looking panel, as well as the pieces not all lining up properly or laser cut properly ending up with bent or deformed sides. The ruins were also not very well designed, I like the idea of it being modular and can be assembled in any way you want but the finished quality of the fastening clips is poor, using plastic clips to hold the walls together seems very lazy when you could have designed it so they slot together using an inside mechanic to hide it, adding to the realism. For me the plastic clips ruin the look of it.Overall very disappointed and was a waste of £50, I've made the same terrain pieces, and even better buildings/scenery by reusing cardboard boxes (Amazon, shoe boxes etc), scissors and sellotape...

Fine at half price, wouldn't buy at full price
Managed to get this on a 60% off day, and it's OK.The scale is 25mm, and that what the play mat grid is scaled to. So no good for Warhammer. But the rest of the terrain is usable, although half the kit is ruined terrain, which has weird rules under 40k 10th edition. I was expecting more trader camp items and less random rubble.Despite being super careful, a few of the cardboard pieces split when bending. A lot of the pieces have marks from where theys come out of the board as they are never fully punched and leave little stubs on all the edges. Can't file them off either or you'll damage the printed bits. Some of the printed layers ripped when putting things together for the time, so much so I've decided I won't be flat packing the containers. And flat pack storage was one of the things that attracted me to this. The video on their website tutorials section is good, and the only way to find out how to put these together. There are no written instructions. The alien terrain pieces aren't all interchangeable as the video claims and there isn't even a suggested layout that doesn't make you have to go buy other kits.At the £20 I paid, I'm ok with the flaws and I can make it work. I'll probably enjoy using the pieces for Starfinder or some other space RPG too. At full price, I'd give it a miss and buy something not made of cardboard
