PILE OF JUNK AUTOMATIC TUNER
Don't buy this product. I have read how it will burn out easy after I ordered it. So when it arrived it did not have very clear instructions. As a precaution, I took my radio and the new tuner to an authorized radio shop. He hooked it up and swr was 1.3 with the power output on radio set to 25 watts. Unit was in automatic mode and as soon as the mike was keyed, the display screen went blank. This is a true piece of junk, I'm serious, it will not work and you will have a box of junk for nothing. I would rate it myself as a -500

Great value 100W autotuner for portable/POTA or home use
This is an amazing value... I love that it gives me power output and SWR data on the screen, unlike my similar single button LDG autotuner that competes in this category (the LDG Z-100-Plus at 3X the price doesn't have an internal battery or display). Battery life seems good, but did self-drain enough after 6-9 months to not power on. Tunes up on only 5 watts (not tried less). Have run 80-90 SSB watts through it, no problem. Not tried CW/digital. Solid build and aluminum case.Like many budget/value items, it could be improved:- Wish it had 2-3 buttons (like some batteryless models) instead of one that needs a short/long press (easy to forget which press does what and would like a bypass button).- Would be nice to choose between BNC connectors or UHF connectors at purchase.- Wish it had a 12V jack on the back to bypass the battery when its dead or for extended home use.- It uses a dot and underline on the screen for indicators, which are easily overlooked and have no on-screen or on-case label for what they mean; would much prefer discrete LEDs in holes on the case (like LDG does).- Cosmetically, the factory didn't remove the plastic protective wrap on the screen (which I appreciate protected the screen), but with the edges tucked tightly under the bezel, it was difficult to fully remove that plastic (I needed tweezers).- You must use a USB-A to USB-C cord to charge it. Won't charge with USB-C to USB-C cables. (I have the same problem with my HT battery that has a USB-C port. I suspect these basic charging circuits don't fully implement the USB-C spec, and are only passing through the two power pins.)- No detailed manual included. (This is based on an open source design by N7DCC, so you can google "atu-100 manual" for manuals, schematics and firmware. It's possible to add those extra buttons if you want to DIY. You can also change parameters such as the autotune SWR threshold or calibrate the watts & swr display.)If most of those issues were fixed in a future revision, this would still be a good value even at a $10-20 higher price.

Reduced my swr from 3 to 1.05.
Reduces my SWR significantly. Have tested primarily on 40m band.

Not impressed
Has not worked well, in many instances this auto tuner added to the SWR seen at the transmitter instead of reducing it.

Good so far
So it would appear that the trick to these tuners is that you get a working one or you get one that doesn't. I have purchased 2 of them. One I have not yet tested, but the one in the picture has been used alot, and it simply works. I used it first on an ANYTONE 5555n2 10 meter radio and it tuned a dipole with no problems. Recently, I have used it on my Kenwood TS450s for 20 meters and 40 meters and it works. My internal Kenwood tuner has issues with 20 meters. I use this cheap external tuner on 20m and it works well. I had a QSO on 20m using this tuner with Moscow, Russia from Virginia with 100 watts!
