Had to break off the little tab pointing down on heat shield at the head of silinoid. Otherwise works great.great value.

OK, I gambled and bought this for my 98 Silverado knowing full well that it wasn't supposed to fit but was in a bind since I can't find the correct shield. I needed to make a couple of bends to the small tabs on this shield but it was a quick modification and once I had flattened out the 2 tabs it slipped on to the solenoid just fine. Not a perfect fix for pre-99 Chevs but it will work in a pinch. The shield itself seems to be a quality piece of equipment, sturdy and solidly manufactured.
