Before this, I had a Bissel Crosswave, which I was never happy with, so it was a bit of a gamble for me to ditch it and buy a cheaper VAX. Turned out to be a wise decision, though. The VAX arrives in a surprisingly compact but very heavy box. It has a separate cleaning fluid tank, which means that you can easily pour what you don't use back in the bottle. The Rapid Power has a number of hand-tools and a long pipe that connects to the main machine. There are four tools. They're great for doing soft furniture or stains. There are two big, heavy heads and two small light ones. One of the heads has a power brush in it. I am not sure what they are all for, so I took some photos and you can decide for yourself. The round brush on one of the tools rotates when the cleaner is switched on. The pipe and tools come in a storage bag, but once again you need to think about where you are going to keep them and whether you really need them. I didn't think I needed them, but turned out I used them right away! Very simple to clip together and and use. Overall the construction is good. The tools seem very well made. The motor is very powerful and while not being quiet, is smooth sounding and tolerable. Very easy to use. I was very impressed with the rate at which it put down and picked up water. It seemed to be very effective at picking up the water. I suppose, on a cold day, you might need to put the heating on for a while, though. On a medium warm day, with all the windows open, I found short pile dried within the hour and long pile took up to two. Upholstery took an hour. At the moment they are less than half a dozen hires of a professional machine. The only reason I can think of that you might not want one of these is that you haven't got anywhere to store it. Very impressed. Highly recommended.

This product was very easy to set up, used within minutes of delivery. Really impressed with how easy it was to clean with! Note, the box you receive it in is large in size as well once the machine is assembled it’s bulky to store away. I had the cheaper pet vax model before and went through 3 replacements and returns as it kept tripping my electrics and machine smoking within minutes of turning on (must have been a faulty batch), so was skeptical about getting another and more expensive vax carpet cleaner, but so far so good! This model definitely has better features than the cheaper pet model, I like that you can choose between quick dry and deep clean on this model. Quick dry feels more of a light clean and it really does dry my rugs in under an hour. Whereas the deep clean definitely gets into my rugs more and leave them wet for longer to dry. I have some very large rugs which I can’t fit in the washing machine, so this carpet cleaner was great at deep cleaning them! I will say be careful where you turn the carpet cleaner off, as some water debris can drip down through the suction enterance, so can be left with a line of dirty water, which I noticed on a cream rug id just cleaned, so would then have to go over that area again. I like the handheld attachments for furnishings, as a few sizes have scrubbers on the end, to scrub in the spray solution. I didn’t feel the suction was as good as the main machine, but maybe I’m using it wrong, or not putting enough solution down before suction. Overall a happy investment if you’re like me and have pets so would use this quite regularly!

I have used other models from the brand and other brands. It does a really good job, leave the carpet relatively dry. Easy to use and tanks have good size so that you don't have to fill it every 2 minutes. Detergent consumption is high, and cleaning could be easier.
