Works as stated. Definite benefit for communicating observed symptoms to medical professionals.
This is an amazing and simple product. Follow the instructions to load the app on a phone, and the app is very user friendly. Records a good simple ECG, sufficient to see the pulse pattern and detect anomalies. I used it specifically to observe AFIB and it reliably detected this artifact. Does not do bp, I use a separate cuff for that. As it records the plot, it also records pulse rate, which allowed me to manage a medication for tachycardia. Also generates reports which can be forwarded to med staff.

USEFUL TOOL
this is a nice portable device. it will tell you if you have abnormalities like a-fib and a few other things like the app states but it will not detect a heart attack. they clearly state that. they also offer a paid subscription if you want more detail or have a physician look and assess your readings as well. you can save your record that date and times it as well and also you can put in your BP if you have it handy from taking it with another device and also put in notes at the time of your recording so you know how you were feeling at that time.

Fit's in wallet
My doctor suggested getting this card EKG so I'd have it on the go.Pros:Arrived quickly and was easy to set up.Packaged nicelyWorks great without extra purchase---EKG/Heartrate/Let's me know my heartrate is normalFits in wallet easilyCons:*Lots of bloatware on the app, making it a little difficult to figure out what is the true app. I would have set it up even quicker without it.*Constant upsell in the app--even after setup. I'm an adult--once or twice is enough!*I found an old paper sleeve from my debit card which I put the Karia in to protect it while in my wallet. I would like to see one come with it.So far so good. Just had it 24 hours, so too soon to tell but will update. Today I just pulled it out, turned it on and scanned. In 30 seconds it gives you results, then cuts off about 5 seconds after that. I read the results on my phone app and put it away. It's that simple to use. You can use it while holding it or place on a flat surface.UPDATE 12/14/2024 No issues. Glad I purchased it plus the peace of mind it offers in those moments you wonder what if something is happening.UPDATE 7/6/2025: Lowered to 2 stars. Will update on how Karia responds. About the last month I started getting some 'unreadable due to interference" recordings. I'm sitting in the same place, same way, no new electonic devices or computer nearby. Even took it outside and today couldn't get any results. Attempted 15 minutes various wasys. Battery is still showing full charge. Tried it many many times today. Had it 7.5 months. I did fill out the form for customer service to contact me. As of right now, I cann't recommend---not just because of this but because it's stressful the first few times it happened because you think it's worked each time so IT MUST BE MY Heart. I need a device that works reliably, not that causes stress. Thankfully I could take my blood pressure and it gives me my heartrate, etc.UPDATE 8/3/2025 I heard from Kardia rep on 7/23/25 after sending them my info. Zero follow up since. I've lowered this to 1 Star. This card is only good if it works and considering I didn't have it long, it should have lasted at least a year or 1.5 years. I cannot recommend at this point, but they sure know how to contact me for upgrades.

Pretty good for a quick check
Very convenient way to check your heart activity. I saw the AD on TV for this product and thought it'd be a useful tool just to check things to see if maybe there's a skip in beats or palpitations, or whatever. Here are some things I've found to take note of with this card:1.) The card itself runs on a lithium battery - and the manufacturer states in the documentation, that when the battery fails or is no longer effective, you can contact support for a replacement card.2.) You can, but it's not required, sign up for a membership through the APP, which gives you additional benefits and reviews of your readings. The membership cost is $9.99 a month, so if you're really concerned about your readings, this might be a good choice. I chose just to get my results saved directly on my phone. The APP saves your results by day and time, and allows you to tag each run, and enter comments on how you are feeling at the time of the EKG. There's an option to view your history too.3.) The APP requires that you create an account, and also to generate a profile (height, weight, and DOB).4.) The card is lightweight, and fits easily in a wallet.5.) The Bluetooth attachment is quick, and you are prompted to launch your EKG once the card is powered on. The button on the card could be better, as pressing it repeatedly, I can't tell if it's on, or in some other state, since it blinks, but then goes solid, then goes out. Once it's on, the small LED is solid amber, and you only get 10 seconds to place your fingers on the pads before the card turns off to save battery power. Whenever the card is inactive for 10 seconds, it turns itself off.6.) The EKG readings run for 30 seconds. During which, you need to be in a stable position. I've noticed that once you touch the pads if you're not settled, the readings are all over the place. It also prompts to rerun the EKG if things are off the scale due to movement, or if your fingers lose contact.7.) The APP allows you to save your results as a PDF, and prompts you for a password for encryption, which is good security, and you can send that PDF off to your doctor or cardiologist. This is a great feature.8.) Following the completion of the EKG, it does its own quick analysis, and posts the results at the top of the screen, such as: 'Normal Sinus Rhythm', and includes your heart rate's beats per minute during the EKG. You can also manually enter in your blood pressure, or connect to an Omron monitor, if you have one.To summarize, this is a handy tool, that is easy to use. As for accuracy of results, I have no idea unless you can compare the results taken at the same time at a cardiologist's office, when they have all the sensors attached to you, but it would be an interesting validation. 4 stars instead of 5 you say?....Price. I think it's a bit costly.
