Always good to know how to dehydrate food that is plentiful so that you'll have it for the leaner times. This book delivers solid, helpful direcitons.

I bought a 20-year old dehydrator and Deanna's book (publ. 1979) came with it. So why did I need another? Because it was so well-used that it was falling apart and no amount of tape could save it. Ironically, I read the reviews on her book and, based on them, I ordered it, not realizing I had the earlier version so it appears it is still a definitive guide on dehydrating. The info has been updated to reflect subtle changes in the last 30 years and now includes websites. The only thing missing are the dozens of colour pictures from the earlier version -- so I guess I'll be keeping it anyway.

The book was in pretty good shape for a used item. The info it contained was quite useful for the most part. My only issue was that sulfur was used in some of the processes and not every one would want to use sulfur: no alternate suggestion was given. Other than that it's pretty informative
