It is very deep and kids can understand some aspects of it. I generally like Dr Seuss for his rhyming words and imaginary characters. This book is different and its message is extremely relevant in our world. It shows how a simple ambitious boy finds a pristine place and starts a business using the resources there. By apathy, callousness and pure corporate greed he completely destroys the place and the company itself has to leave the place and move on. It leaves with the message that unless someone like you wakes up and does something about it nothing will change. This simple message is put very effectively and with style and technique which very few authors have accomplished in their entire lives. This is one of the gloomy dark stories of Dr Seuss. For tongue twisters my 3.5 year old son loves ``Fox in Socks", for simple stories he likes ``Horton Hatches an egg". He even loves A.B C by Seuss. Several of Dr Suess stories are based on his social and political views. I feel this is probably his best executed literary work. If you are planning to give it as a birthday gift to other kids, you should consider their age and background.

Good book but now there's a guy who says he speaks for ds trees living on my backyard
Very great but one issue is that after I read this book the tree that I cut down a few days ago had something orange and fuzzy in it which said "Don't make the mistake he made" good book but now I think my land is haunted

Adult and enjoying!
It's in a poetic formation and yet quite easily readable/understandable. An adult and yet I find the book very much motivating.

Oh! The One Who Speaks for the Trees
A fantastic book from a brilliant wordsmith. I love all the books by Dr. Seuss and enjoy reading them out to my three-year old son. He loves The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax, both famous works by Dr. Seuss. The writer is a fine rhymester, creating lovely, musical lines. Read this one: "Mister!" He said with a sawdusty sneeze, "I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues. And I'm asking you, sir, at the top of my lungs," he was very upset as he shouted and puffed-- "What's that THING you've made out of my Truffula tuft?" I recommend all the books by Dr Seuss -- they are available for different age groups -- as their reading will develop a love for words and language at an early age. We must thank God for Dr. Seuss and his books.

Muy buen libro, la verdad si quieres aprender inglés no lo recomiendo si tienes un nivel muy avanzado debido al tecnicismo de las palabras pero fuera de eso, si dominas el idioma el cuento es perfecto para empatizar con la naturaleza.

Teaches a great message, but I think my 5-yr-old niece isn't at the age to really get into it. Maybe in a year or two, unless the kid you're getting it for has a good attention span.

Bought this for a friend's child - I love the story but also feel strongly that every child should read it or watch it, especially in this age of consumption (the irony that I bought it on Amazon isn't lost of me!)
