Miracle Results!
My wife and I have a 14 month old yellow lab that has a fantastic temperament, but is wildly excited when on a leash. At 76 pounds, he pulls my wife's arm off and is uncontrollable when another dog is near... we know he just wants to play and explore, but the struggle is difficult for my wife to control. I have tried to train all of my dogs to heal and walk obediently using every kind of leash, training collar, zap collars, harnesses, choker chains, short leashes, long leashes, and combinations of all of the above and more. The last straw was when my wife walked the dog and restraining him while cleaning a mess on the walk, when another dog came into sight. She was pulled off balance, fell on the pavement and got a bad road rash along her elbow, arm and side. Enough! I looked online and was hopeful for any kind of solution and after a little research, I found the SideWalker SW-5 leash trainer. It was pricey, but not as bad as some of the other items we have tried. I swear, it took ONE walk... yes! - ONE walk to train him. We started the setting on vibrate only. That got his attention, but he quickly started to pull in his usual manner. So, I cranked it to setting 2 - immediate results. One pull and he let out a little tiny yelp, looked at us and returned to our side and sat down. We reassured him with praise and started off again, he was tentative, but soon forgot until once again the leash worked and immediately he paced his walk to the exact distance of the leash and at OUR pace... not his. On that first walk, we came across another dog and he was noticeably being zapped with the collar, but still struggling. From then on, I turned it to setting 3, and the very next dog that came by gave our Lab the opportunity to realize that this collar was NO JOKE! We have had this collar for 3 weeks or so and my wife and I take the dog for a walk every day. He has never gotten zapped again. We don't take any chances and always have the collar on setting 3, but he has been a perfect dog on our walks. We have shown all of our family and friends, who worried about my wife and such a large dog, and they can't believe the difference. It was overnight to them, but again, ONE walk for us! The big difference from this collar and a normal training collar is that the dog's pulling on the leash sets off the device... you don't have to try to time your commands and other devices to the dog's bad behavior. That doesn't work well and I was always on the trigger, just waiting for the behavior to warrant a correction. With the SideWalker SW-5, we can just walk, talk and enjoy ourselves. The dog is noticeably enjoying himself too and doesn't come home from walks, hoarse and out of breath from pulling so hard on the choker chain. We both HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone with a dog that struggles with walks. For everyone worried about shocking their dog, let me assure you, my son's and I all tried the SideWalker SW-5 on ourselves. The vibrate setting is exactly what it sounds like and was actually weak in comparison to some vibrate collars. Settings 1-3 are a constant current while the dog pulls and immediately stops when the dog returns slack to the leash. At setting 1, you immediately realize this product is serious. And setting 2 I thought would be more than enough for any dog to correct leash pulling. On setting 3, I am absolutely positive that any dog would immediately and decisively behave in the manner you desire.Only drawback is the last setting which is progress and starts with vibrate and goes to 1, 2, and finally 3 if the dog continues to pull and struggle against the leash. The problem we had with this setting when we tried it once, was that every time the dog gives slack to the leash, it resets the sequence and with our Lab, he would struggle and jump towards other dogs creating a yanking sensation on the leash that would unfortunately give just enough slack, between yanks, to reset the progressive setting. So, we went to 3 and left it there.Again, MIRACLE RESULTS and I highly recommend this leash for anyone struggling to control their dog on a leash.

Works as advertised
Would buy this product again. It's made it possible for someone besides me to walk my 60 pound lab puppy. I've used two of these devices - one a friend's I tried before buying my own. Both work as advertised and have been a big help in reminding my lab puppy that he's on leash and pulling isn't OK. Two digs - 1) a little expensive and 2) the strap is a little thin and makes the putting on/taking off (which I do for every use because I don't want my dog to accidentally slightly shock himself, or worse hurt himself with a strong shock) a little more challenging than I'd like. Some of the bad reviews may be due to folks not taking the time to read the instructions.

Amazing Game Changer!
Absolute game changer! I have a 1 year old golden retriever who has always been a puller. He made me fall flat on stomach twice and I got scraped up pretty badly. I tried an expensive trainer, keeping up with training myself, you name it I probably tried it. I am now 5 months pregnant and it was simply not an option to try to walk him. Until I decided to try this wonderful tool. Did I feel great about the idea of needing to zap him, even at low settings? No. But the vibrate mode did not work so I put it on 1. He was zapped twice and suddenly he was walking right next to me with a slack leash. It was like magic. I am so grateful for this collar! Highly recommend to anyone who is out of options.

My dog walks so much better after first day
My dog is a frequent puller and use to be a pain to walk. I have a lab that has plenty of energy and is a great dog except for being a leash puller. It worked after the first walk with her and she didn’t pull at all but still enjoyed the walk. For my dog at least a level 1 is good for her.A level 2 makes her yell. I tried the progressive mode and i think it goes too high of a level for her. I tested it on my self and it doesn’t actually hurt just feels weird even at a 3. My dog is very sensitive and didn’t have any damage from the collar. For her at least I almost just need vibration.

Stops her in her tracks....until it shorted out while on her!!! 😳
UPDATE: This collar was absolutely awesome....until it wasn’t. It shorted out and literally sent my dog screaming down the street. It started to continually shock her and I couldn’t get it off of her. You have to put it on so tight so it doesn’t slide on their neck, that to get it off when it was shocking her was near impossible. Eventually I guess it stopped shocking her and I was able to get it off. In the meantime...it was very traumatic not only for her but for me watching her in horrible pain and screaming. The whole neighborhood heard it!This collar is awesome. I have a 60 pound Lab/Pit mix and my dog trainer recommended it. What a difference! She took a bit to figure out what caused the vibration, but once she did....walking is now a breeze. The trainer said it doesn’t hurt....just stuns her. Before this collar she walked me....literally. As a person with back issues, the risk of her pulling me over is just too great....I no longer have to worry about it thanks to this baby!
