Eric Clapton: The World's Greatest Living Guitarist (Y) [Welch, Chris] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Eric Clapton: The World's Greatest Living Guitarist (Y) Review: should be more readily available - The Bluesman is a great compilation of music from Eric Clapton assembled by Andy Aledort. Much of the music is from his earlier days so ignores more timely titles, but is an in depth look at the early blues oriented style Clapton started with. I can't understand why Hal Leonard discontinued this package unless there may have been a plan to convert the included CD to DVD, and the plan was abandoned before implementation. As it is, the tabs are clearly written, accurate: almost painfully so: and the CD tracks are perfect. Each title is broken into segments, with each segment played at normal speed and again at a much slower tempo. This makes it easy to follow the tab, or to play note for note with the track. In closing: The Bluesman is a terrific product for learning the blues style of one of popular music's most influential artists. I only wish Hal Leonard Corp. would produce it with an accompanying DVD so I could purchase that as well. Review: Excellent - This is Spot On if you are interested in old Clapton Tunes. The Material is Accurate and the Instruction is Presented Well. CD in very valuable help, although you can also play straight off the Recordings. A Good Buy!

Beautiful transcription
I'm one of those musicians who LOVES playing along with a favorite album. I hate when a book doesn't follow the CD exactly. This one does. 'Beautiful transcription of a fantastic album.

Mediocre at best!
Since most of the other reviews for this are from 2013 and 2016...before this book was even published, they are for a different book! I just got this book today and after thumbing though the pages I immediately saw several picture captions that are completely inaccurate. One example describes Eric playing with fellow blues-man Robert Cray but the photo is of Eric with Buddy Guy in 1969 not Cray who would have only been 16 in '69! Stuff like that bothers me. Makes it seem like the book was rushed to production with little to no fact checking. Chris Welsh's writing skills are also pretty poor in this book. This thing reads more like a Book Report than something written by a formal Melody Maker journalist who knew Eric back in the day and has interviewed him dozens of times. In fact he wrote another book on Eric a few years ago and it is much better put together. The pictures are good and for that it gets 3 starts. Just don't rely on the captions to be accurate!

The title says It all Thank you to both the author but most of all to Eric Clapton Who has musical principles and took himself and us his fans on a brilliant musical journey Long may he continue to do so

It doesn't have any tablature and that alone was very desappointing for me. If you don't need to follow a tab along so it'll be just perfect for you.

Tom Freitag [...]
