Perfect for Budget Builds, High Miles, and Questionable Life Choices
I used the Westspark 10m Titanium Exhaust Heat Wrap (it's actually titanium coloured fibreglass of course) to wrap both the manifold and downpipe on a highly modified 1.6 HDi – yes, the famously robust (cough) French diesel. To be fair, the car came to me as a cheap commuter, but I was given most of the upgrade parts for free, so naturally I took that as a sign to strap on the big turbo and aim to send the rods to God (need an excuse to buy a new car and the wife wont listen). The wrap itself is great quality for the price – surprisingly so. I’m a mechanic by trade and a tight ass by nature, and I don’t exactly love this car, so this was the perfect product: affordable, tough, and does the job without complaint. The 10 meters was just enough to do the downpipe and manifold (once you grind off the strengthening ribs for cylinder 1 and 4, or is it 4 and 1, bugger french cylinder numbering) with a decent overlap plus plenty extra, and it went on without much fuss. One thing to note – soak it in water before you start. Not only does it stop the fibres from going airborne and making you itch like mad/getting in your lungs, but once it dries out from the heat, it shrinks nicely onto the exhaust and holds tight like it’s supposed to. After wrapping, I noticed a small but consistent drop in intake air temps during datalogging. The intake pipe runs way too close to the hot manifold (heat shields dont fit over the mahoosive honeywell, because, you know, French engineering), so this wrap has definitely helped cut down on heat soak. Every little bit counts when you're trying to keep a turbocharged reeky baguette chucker alive. All in all, it’s a solid product for anyone messing about with cars on a budget. Whether you're building a track toy, a daily beater, or in my case, a diesel time bomb, the Westspark wrap is a great way to keep things cool, cut heat soak, and look like you know what you're doing. Highly recommend – especially if you’re trying to make cheap car magic happen without setting your exposed and naked boost pipe on fire.

Nice tape, not keen on the ties
Wear rubber gloves to avoid the prickly fibres. The tape is fine and does a good job of covering my rusty bike exhaust downpipe making it look somewhat more tidy. I like the colour it looks sort of vintage. I am not a big fan of the ties. They are tricky to tighten, with the best advice being to shove a fine punch into the locking mechanism and pull against that. Because they are not very elastic, they just feel loose. I very much prefer a normal jubilee style hose clip (in stainless of course). I only used these part way down the pipe to stop the tape from flapping.

Smokes at first, no reason to worry
Hi there I brought this not knowing much about it, which was my mistake when I handled it without the right gloves as it has micro fibres of metal that irritate and cut ur skin, they attach to your clothes and are quiet annoying, the other thing to look out for is the cable tires can be cut with scissors and, when applied the wrap can smoke on the first few test rides, mine smoked a lot on the first one and then stopped, I have found that there’s a constant spell of the wrap after long rides, harmless tho I think, all in al looks great. Thanks for your time

Be careful
This is excellent exhaust wrap but it’s made of fibreglass and I’ve never known anything like it for being invasive into the skin. Hands and eyes swollen for two days. Use gloves and long sleeves and goggles.

Remember to wear gloves
I used this to wrap my exhaust, which was touching my bumper. Only needed the one roll. One mistake I are was not to wear gloves. It was painful. FYI: wear gloves
