It helps alot. Defintly prevents it from getting to bad and healing was painless and only took 3 days instead of two weeks. Use it when it starts up! Also very hydrating for the lips love it!

Girlfriend's review: Lysine is one of the 9 Essential Amino Acids required for bodily function related to proteins. Lysine specifically, is used for lip regeneration. I've been using Lysine for cold sores since my grandma kissed me as a baby. Lysine is the most effective cold sore combatant I've found, period. Lysine brings pain relief, and reduces symptoms. This product is room temperature, and comes out pretty thick. If you apply Lysine when you first start to feel an inkling of an outbreak, 9 times out of 10 you won't have an outbreak. If you apply it during an outbreak, it'll be slow healing. In other words, the speed at which you feel relief is dependent on how fast you can get lysine on your face, and in your body, (highly recommend buying some Lysine in pill form.) If you're slow to put lysine on, it'll be slow to work it's magic. If you apply Lysine fast, it'll work it's magic so fast you likely won't have a cold sore at all. Oh, and Lysine is pretty nice just for dealing with ordinary cracked dry lips. Lip regeneration! Chemistry! Funky chains of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen baby! ;)

Cold sore are a bear! Lysine helps to sooth it. I don't know that it helps heal it any faster. Taking oral lysine is probably going to help more in the long run. I have also found that putting oil of oregano directly on the cold sore helps immensely, as the oregano can kill viruses....but beware...it burns for a few minutes. I had a foot ball sized cold sore on my lip and the oregano helped get rid of it within a week. Usually it would take 2.5 weeks for it to clear up. That being said, I'm still in favor of the Lysine lip treatment as it does sooth the pain. I'm only giving 4 stars because I think it's pretty pricey.

I was skeptical on this but I had a double cold sore pop up so I thought wth I will try it. This stuff definitely works it dried it up like immediately I used this and Carmex to keep it moist from popping open and bleeding it was amazing healed in about 4 to 5 days and no odor from this. Just try it you will be amazed.

Amazing. I normally don’t do reviews. But this product really works. I got it yesterday, and my cold sore was bad. I started to put it every hour or so, and today it’s almost gone. Only 24 hours. I wish I have this product with me when I started to feel the symptoms. I will order more and keep it with me all the time.

This product does what it says. Don’t use your finger to apply, rather use the tube itself. Cold sores clear up in no time.

I like the light coating that goes on the lips. This actually helped stop my cold sore from spreading or inflaming as bad as it usually gets when I get a cold sore. My cold sore wasn't as inflamed as bad as it usually is. Doesn't seem like I used that much lysine from the tube so it will last longer than I thought.
