Very nice leather to work with to make a journal or other project
Wonderful leather with a beautiful color. I bought it to make a journal. I wasnt sure what to expect, but once I was finished, it came out way better than I thought and I love the leather. It was perfect thickness and was easy to work with.

Very happy with the thickness and quality
I got the 12x24 piece of Dark Brown leather. I wanted to make my own planner cover - nothing fancy - I just hate it when planner covers have the button/buckle strap and the cover doesn't lay perfectly flat - so I got my own piece and made a cut for an A5 ring binder mechanism and also an A6 personal size ring binder mechanism. I was delighted that I was able to get 2 cuts out of the 12x24 piece. The item came carefully rolled and wrapped - so when I unrolled it, there were no marks or scratches. Now I am able to scratch up and mark my planner cover exactly how I want so that it achieves a nice worn look to it. Great value for the money. The thickness was perfect for me - pliable to flop how I wish, but also thick and stiff enough to be protective and hold it's shape. The dark brown color looked like the image description - or maybe a hint lighter than the image - could be the angle I look at it. I was able to cut it with a pair of sewing scissors and punch holes in it with a belt hole punch. I did not try to sew it. I'm looking forward to getting other colors in the future.

Questionable Description
This would have been a 5 star rating, If the description was correct. In what I can only assume is an attempt to appeal to as many search results as possible, this product contains many incorrect descriptions. The description of this product reads "Genuine" and "full-grain", which are two contradictory statements. The description also reads "tool-able", which is untrue, as tooling can only be done with veg-tan leather, which this is not. The product seems to be "Genuine" (machined) leather, which has a suede layer made from split full-grain leather. This is the result of the "flesh side" trimmings from full-grain leathers (A process called "splitting") being compressed or combined somehow to a thin layer of leather. This helps cut down on trimming wastes. I am unsure what animal this product is made from. The top-grain of this "leather" appears to be oil-tanned or heavily oil-based. This product however is extremely luxurious-feeling. The surface is VERY smooth to touch, and has a VERY beautiful "pull" effect. "Pull" leather, in the leatherworking world, describes the characteristic of the leather to discolor as it is "stressed" or bent/crumpled. This allows for that classic "distressed" look of leather as it ages, with visible colored creases in the directions that the leather is bent. This allows for a truly unique color pattern. This product does scratch and blemish VERY EASILY. Scrapes or abrasions from fingernails, sewing needles, or simple bumps, are VERY visible. Light blemishes can be buffed out, but buffing will affect the color due to the "pull" effect. Overall Cons: - Incorrect description with as many keywords as possible used to describe product Product is not: "full grain" or "Toolable" - VERY easily scratched/blemished Pros: - Beautiful "Pull leather" - Extremely luxurious smooth surface - Very Pliable Many reviews speak of receiving inconsistent products, which include scratches/blemishes or incorrect colors, however after 2 purchases, this has not been the case for me so far.

Far better than expected.
Exactly what I needed to make a bigger plague mask. I got a PU leather plague mask a bit back and not only did it have an odd smell it was far too small. Soft but sturdy, good thickess, No weird smells (doesn't smell like dye) The finish on it looks good and smooth. When I cut it it was black inside as well, that is something not every leather on here can boast. Here is a photo of the early (non-decorated) version of the mask I made from the leather.

Great value
This was the nicest presentation of a leather square. Thoughtfully wrapped with a reusable leather binding strap and canvas bag. Great value.

Thickness of leather is less

Decent leather, however it does not have a uniform thickness of 2mm. The claim is that this is 2mm thick, when I measured it the piece was thinner over several areas. Since I specifically needed 2mm thickness the lack of uniformity is a disappointment.
