Stunning deck, classic artwork
This is a stunning deck that really showcases the breadth and variety of work by brilliant 19th century French illustrator and woodblock engraving artist Gustave Doré, who in his lifetime created over 10,000 illustrations.I have been in love with Doré's work since I read John Milton's "Paradise Lost" in high school, and was blown away by the gorgeous, intricate black and white illustrations that further romanticized that iconic work of literature portraying the fall of Lucifer. The cards themselves are on the smaller side, but feel sturdy and shuffle well.

Gorgeous!! What a treat...
I have several hundred decks and I'd have to say this is among the best when it comes to beautiful art decks. The artist was a French illustrator who carved his images in wood block and then printed them. Any collector really needs to buy this one. The cardstock is the standard Lo Scarabeo which is the best in the mass produced industry. The card size is ideal and the LWB has good information. Lo Scarabeo cards are produced in Italy. The images work nicely with the respective titles. A very lovely deck.

I Like Them
I can understand why the creator used certain characters to represent the tarot cards, such as Moses being the Magician and Daniel as the Strength card. They certainly add a spin to the readings.

I like it
it's totally fine. It's black and white and the art is pretty incredible. I don't know if i can use them in a reading, but they are still cool. yeah, the black and white can be pretty intense, but you should still buy them. Support this incredible artist.

Poor resolution
I was so excited for this deck, as a fan of Dore’s illustrations. Quite a few of the cards had very poor resolution in comparison to the rest. I expected better from LLewellyn.
