I don’t have the exact measurement because I use it at work. I would guess to say 1/4 inch or less. It has some cushion to it but it isn’t too thick. It doesn’t have any gel just a sturdy padding. I really like mine and would purchase again

I cut about 1/2 of length off my 5x7 xmas card to put into this mouse pad and it fits ok. The actual clear part is about 4x6...hope that helps. I like this product.
