Sturdy, strong magnet, lid closes securely.
Nice sturdy cases with strong magnets. Cap snaps shut and is secure. We bought locks for our backyard chain-link fence gates after a contractor left one open and our Boxer's could have gotten out. We put the key for each lock in these cases and stuck them to the fence posts on the side facing into the back yard so we can access them easily but they would be difficult to see from outside the fence. We still have easy access but peace of mind too, knowing our gates are closed.

Nice key box with a strong magnet
This magnetic key box is a bit larger than standard one (housekey size) and larger/longer is what I wanted to hold a spare key for one of my vehicles. That smaller part of this box is "hinged" and after 20-something years it finally broke, so I ordered a new set. The magnet is strong and over all I recommend this product. (And don't worry, I put a non-chipped key in the magnetic box, so even if someone does manage to find it and open the door then crank the engine, the engine will immediately shut down with the chip in the key.)

It does what it’s supposed to do
This is the third set that I buy. I’ve been using this particular magnetic key holder for the last 20 years. I used to hide my front door key Underneath the stairs on a metal bracket. I also use it for the entry key for my car underneath the wheel well. This bad boy has save me calling AAA and or a locksmith on quite a few occasions. It’s allowed me to let my family members into my condo or the use of my car. I periodically move it around and hide it in new places. The magnet is very powerful and will almost clamp on to metal. The only issue I’ve had in the past is the little flap will break. I wish that it was made watertight. But I solve the issue with wrapping the key and plastic wrap so it doesn’t rust. I’ve power washed my wheel wells and the key will never dislodge. I’ve driven in snow, sleet, torrential downpour and even a hail storm, The key is always attached to my car. I’ve attached it to the wheel well, the front & back fenders. I absolutely love this thing.

Strengthen the material
Strong magnet, but the plastic did not hold up, one drop and bye bye holder. Maybe find a way to lighten up the magnet or strengthen the plastic.

The magnet is strong with this one
It will NOT fit a car key fob. I use this for my old Toyota truck that has just a metal key. The clip that holds the lid shut finally broke after 12 years (as I opened it... Not as I was going down the road) so I ordered a new one. Anytime I reached under my truck to get it, it hadn't budged - the magnet is plenty strong! It's great for a metal key (house or old car), but if you're wanting to hide a key with a big plastic head, this likely won't work for you. My 07 Honda pilot keys don't fit. 5 stars for what it is, though.

Junk
These are junk. light shaking causes the lid to pop open. the loop for a lanyard is so easily broken as to render it non-existant. The magnet is weak. I have rare earth magnets 1/10th the size that have more holding power. One is better off with two 8" pieces of duct tape and several zip ties. get a few rare earth magenets if you cannot use zip ties. lay the tape on a table sticky side up. place the key(s) on the center of the left 4 inches of tape. place the zip ties across the tape (short or long, doesnt matter as long as you use more than one tie) place magnets along perimiter of tape. Fold tape to cover the keys, ties, and/or magnets. wrap with the second piece of tape. use zip ties to mount package on vehicle or whatever. This will last nearly forever and not fall from much...and costs about $.50....just watch location of package for heat...tape melts!

Does the job
This has been holding a key and staying put since it was placed on the truck. Works great for a key with no FOB. Some previous reviews felt the hinge and lock were flimsy or were breaking. They do seem a little thin, but mine is solely for emergency purposes, so it was opened once to put the key in and hasn't been disturbed since. If you're constantly opening to remove the key, I could see the wear and tear being a problem. If you're using it for an emergency spare key, it is perfect.
