I made this fit my M715 Jeep with minor modifications to the straps and the addition of a rear hoop that i had fabricated. The top is top notch quality imitation leather type material.

Final Update: Return was easy and refund was quick. The new top ordered direct from Bestop fits great, and feels sturdier than the Bronco one. Straps still seem like they won’t last. But install was fast and easy, and top looks great. I’d go with 4 stars if Amazon had sent the right one to begin with. Update: Amazon sent the wrong Top. I ordered the proper top direct from Bestop and am returning this one. I’ll update when I receive the new one. Original: As others have said, the tie-down straps wont last very long. They're already fraying after driving with it 3 times. The lip that tucks into the front channel isn't made of anything rigid like plastic - its simply thick fabric, and doesn't stay in place. When driving over 20 mph, it slips out of the channel, so I have to stop and remove the top. It is also 2 inches too wide in front...so the ends of the lip arent even inside the channel. My 1973 Toyota Landcruiser has a Bestop soft top, so I (wrongly?) assumed their bikini top would be compatible with their channel. Amazon states this is the top for my vehicle, so ,maybe that wasnt accurate. I am waiting on a call back from support; if its the wrong top, or I'm doing something wrong, I will update my review.

I had the windshield strip from my old full soft top. This bikini top was out of the box and on my Landcruiser in minutes. Make sure to tighten the straps a couple of times over the first week or two. The top and the straps will stretch a bit.

The first Bestop bikini top I purchased for my '73 Land Cruiser lasted many years, probably around eight or ten. When it finally wore out, I purchased another one in 2021, for $79. When it arrived I was dismayed to see that it had plastic buckles on the straps instead of the metal ones that were on the older top. I was also annoyed to see the hideous non-removable warning label silkscreened on the underside. But worst of all, this top did not even survive three summers before the strap broke. I have to assume that it was due to poor material selection (lack of UV resistance). The strap is an integral part of the top, and can't be easily replaced. The warranty was only for a year. And now the price of a new top is up to $115! I cannot recommend this top, which is sad for me because Bestop used to sell quality products. If you already have one of these, I recommend finding a way to wrap or cover the straps to protect them from the sun.

I like some others on here had an older model of this it lasted years material was thicker it never blew off because of the attachment to windshield this one has blown off twice so far I would not recommend this to anyone with fj40 I have now tied it down to roll cage but it still blows off at least now it’s not flying behind me it don’t matter how tight you make it without fear off tearing the straps off not like the older ones that lasted for years

Easy to install, inexpensive and such a relief in the sun. Looks really good on my FJ-40, compliments the aesthetics.

This is the 3rd Bestop bikini top I've ordered for my 1977 fj40 in 8 years. The top fits perfectly and is really good quality EXCEPT for the weak link. The rear straps that tighten and secure the back of the top become brittle over time and break. I was able to lengthen the life of my last one by using a black ratcheting tie down which actually worked better than the cinching system provided. I also noticed that the tie down material hasn't become brittle over the years. I'm replacing my old one only because the top vinyl portion started to rip where I punched a hole to put the hook through for the tie down. Like I said Bestop makes a great fitting bikini top for my application and better quality compared to others I've tried, that's why I've only purchased the same top to replace the others. I may take the new one to a seamstress to see if I can reinforce the hole for the tie downs with thread and hopefully metal grommets too.
