Laddie Wood-Cased Pencils, #2 HB Soft, With Erasers, Yellow, 12 Count

Every couple of years I buy these pencils. I work in a public school and first of all, any and all pencils made by Ticonderoga are the absolute Cadillac of Pencils. These larger diameter pencils are perfect for me as I have some mild arthritis in my fingers and these are just easier to grip. My students all prefer the larger diameter as well and we have nicknamed these wonderful pencils “Fattie Laddies”. Because they are number two pencils, they can be used for testing. They sharpen very well and have excellent erasers. They are great for early learners and they are great for kids who may have some motor function issues in their hands. They last a long time making them a good bang for your buck. I have worked in high school and in middle schools in general Ed classrooms and my students always want to borrow one of my Fattie Laddies.😊 Parents, if you are looking for great pencils to purchase for your kid’s classroom (or just for the student in your life), their teachers will love you if you buy these.

Perfect for little hands learning to write. Teachers love these pencils and i can see why. My 5 year old is just starting kindergarten and these pencils are amazing. She fumbles with regular pencils, but with these, she is confident. And wants to keep learning to write. They are comfortable, earse great, and dont break quickly. Great value for your money.

It’s true. These pencils are the BEST. As a teacher & mom, this is the only brand I’ll purchase. They sharpen great, hard to break the lead, & are very well made. Well worth every penny!

These pencils are the best for woodworking. They have a thicker lead that resists breakage and are a nice size.

Perfect for my daughter without looking to “kiddie”

Ticonderoga are the best pencils. These "Laddies" were just as described. They are bigger than the standard size and smaller than the "My First" aka "Beginners" pencils. My young kids still use the "Begginers" pencils but for everything else, "Laddies" are great. They are bigger, completely cylindrical, more comfortable, has thicker and studier lead. Great for school, office, home, and even working outside in our backyard wood shop. You will need an adjustable pencil sharpener to accomodate larger pencil barrel size or go old school and sharpen by hand with a blade. We use electic sharpeners at home, specifically the XACTO School Pro and XACTO Teacher Pro. Both are excellent and highly recommended. I included a video of the XACTO Teacher Pro, which auto adjusts for barrel size, sharpening all three sizes. Just look at those sharp points! Too bad you can't smell the freshly sharpened pencils. Smells heavenly. I would recommend these and any Ticonderoga pencil.

Looks like the box got damaged. It’s hard to tell if it was a shipping thing or if it was sent this way, but the other items in my package (books) were in fine condition. I like the pencils though! They write smooth and they’re comfy to hold, even for someone who holds their pencil with a death grip lol.

A buddy of mine uses Sharpies for marking his cuts since it is a bold, easy-to-see mark. However, a felt mark is often too wide, and cannot be erased, which is very unsuitable for finishing work. A regular pencil leaves a mark that can be erased, but is often difficult to see, especially in low light. These Laddie pencils are the ideal combination of the two: a nice, dark line due to the soft 'lead, and the mark can be easily removed using the attached eraser. You need a sharpener that accommodates the larger diameter, but well worth it.
