Great GPS device
Had this for about a month now on 60 minute updates, still has 75% battery. Accurate as any GPS can be, and decent construction. Support seems very responsive, and above all that one of the cheapest GPS devices out there. Setting up the device through the app is very easy.

Good for tracking child's location
We got this product to track our son after he gets off the bus to walk home. I liked that it was compact and the monthly fee after the free trial was affordable and that I could get an update of his location every couple minutes if needed. It would be nice to have the option to see the live location, but it serves our purposes in that we live in a very safe community with neighbors who know our son, so the tracker is less essential. I like that he can press a button to alert me if he needs help, but I wish that it sent a more pronounced alert sound to my phone - it makes the regular sound like any other notification from any other app. It would be nice if it made more like an emergency or Amber alert sound. It sounds like some of the reviews state that it stops working after a month, which is about how long we have had it, but in reading the instructions it sounds like the battery lasts about that long then needs to be recharged, which our device has recently alerted my phone that it needs to be recharged - perhaps those customers didn't know that it needs to be recharged? The company seems pretty open to feedback and customer support so I'm hoping to stick with them and see the improvements above happen.

Works as advertised, long battery life
Changing my review to 1 star. I bought 2 trackers and 2 1-year subscriptions, less than 6 months in, neither tracker is reliable. Customer service won't respond. Device stopped responding after a few months. It just randomly goes offline and the app says "check device" even when fully charged. Sometimes service comes back, now my newer tracker has been offline for a week. I cannot get a response from customer service after MULTIPLE emails, except for the AI bot that just says to charge it which doesn't work. -original review below- Bought to keep track of my kid on the school bus/ afterschool activities. GPS isn't perfect but it's pretty close and seems to have gotten better now that we've used it more. I have used it on active mode everyday with 2 hrs per day of "emergency mode" tracking every two minutes. It went 2 weeks before giving a low battery reading, which seems pretty reasonable to me. Only issue is that when you put it in battery saving mode it has to be put back in active mode and will not go straight into emergency mode even if you push the button. I won't be using battery saving mode again because of this but it isn't a big deal now that I know. I also wish I could keep it in emergency mode longer. That said, having is substantially better than an airtag and the monthly fee is reasonable. Like that I can cancel and restart the service without having to get a new device, unlike others.

Two years in and it works. Purchased a second unit in August 2024
Review update - October 2024 I had a glitch with the USB plug on the unit. It wasn't charging. I had no problem getting service help from Tack. My 2022 model was superseded by an updated design. Mine was just out-of-warranty. Tack gave me a big discount on a replacement with their newest model. I then purchased a second unit to tag the grandchildren. At an event or even in a park kids are fast. They too easily disappear causing anxious moments while we look for them. I was reminded of that while visiting an Apple Orchard with two of them. They are looking for fun and don't see the dangers that parents and grandparents see. We had them tagged with Samsung Smart Tag2's. Which are pretty reliable but require proximity to an Android phone. The Tack GPS unit is completely independent and capable of on-demand location identification. So it's better then an AirTag or SmartTag which should anyhow be essential gear on any child under the age of 10. A Tack GPS+ device is one step better. It also has an alert function to message parents if the kids became lost. I'm happy with the size, recharging, and tracking. I imagine the next version might see continuous tracking. That's an issue with battery size and monitoring costs. The Tack unit has a one hour mode which doubles the frequency of tracking pin drops. I hope they can make that continuous for at least 8 hours in a future model. First review from October 2022 I was looking for a theft location gadget to help locate my road bike should someone steal it. I physically examined and tested six different GPS location devices. Tack GPS was not in available last year when I did the testing. I liked Invoxia and selected their gum stick size device. I thought it was the most easily hidden and it provided pretty much continuous monitoring. Unfortunately it failed after a couple of months of use. Invoxia text support was horrible and would not help. I then reviewed everything on Amazon and found the Tack GPS unit. The phone app was not as simple as Invoxia but at least the unit works and the Android app is functional. The only glitch for me as continuous monitoring on demand or when the unit is moving. Tack GPS limits such monitoring to an hour and even then it's at big intervals. My bike adventures are 2-3 hours. Affecting the Tack GPS design is that the unit is small which is a great feature. While small doesn't seem to diminish GPS tracking it does mean "small battery". So there's a big tradeoff. Small size while trying to be able to track for a week or two weeks or a month requires energy and a small battery has limits. There's also the cost of monitoring. More frequent updates increases data charges and data is not free. The Tack GPS uses multiple wireless technologies to communicate but the expensive one is accessing the cellular network which provides communication regardless of location or access to things like wi-fi. I gave the Tack GPS 5 stars because it does work. It's reliable. The customer and tech support was great. They even customized my unit to report position data at 5 minute intervals instead of 10 minute. Compared to what's available for the summer of 2023 I don't think there's a better choice.

Provides for Great Peace of Mind
I bought this as a way to track my Mazda should it be stolen or to locate the car if my wife is running overly late, easing my worries about her being detained or carjacked. (Mazda has an app, but the delay on locating the vehicles location can be rather excessive. It will also incur a $10 monthly charge after the initial 3 year period.) I place the device in the spare tire area, just below the cargo deck cover. I have had no trouble with tracking the vehicle when I feel the need to. The app is very good, and setup was a snap. The battery lasts anywhere from 3-4 weeks, and charging is very fast. I have it set in "Active" mode providing 5 minute track updates when the car is moving. I like this so much that I plan on buying one for my second vehicle in the Spring. I am also considering buying more to replace the Tiles I use to track my luggage.

I'd been wanting to get a tracker for my dog for a while, but I was always put off by the high prices, short battery life and lack of waterproofing. Tack solves all these problems and has proved great so far! Have used it without problem for about 6 weeks and been pleasantly surprised with its features (especially battery life, which is WAY better than any other brand). I was initially hesitant to get anything that required a monthly subscription fee, but there really is no getting around that if you want mobile GPS, and the fee really is pretty small (a few dollars USD). All in all, very happy. Oh! And my dog has also been in and out of the water and rain and so far the device has lived up to its claims of being waterproof :)

I bought the Tack GPS for travel and I’m so glad I did. My luggage went missing on a connecting flight, but the tracker showed me exactly where it ended up. The battery life is amazing and the monthly fee is genuinely low compared to other brands. Super reliable and totally worth the money.

It pretty easy to setup and use. The tracking location is precise and accurate. Had use other brand before but Tack GPS is much user friendly. Do note that you will need to manually press the button once(after charging) if you had totally drain off the battery after using for 28days.

My father in law has dementia and over the last 2 years we have tried 4 different trackers including this one (Light bug, Tracker Shop and another). The others have have all been massively flawed in various ways, usually having awful battery life, unreliable, inaccurate and overly complicated apps. I've been using Tack now for a month and it has been perfect. Nice simple app, reasonably priced monthly costs, accurate location and reliable at alerting when leaving the safe zones. The best thing is the battery life! The device came charged (not fully) and after almost a month of use it has only just reported that it needs charging up! The app still registers the battery as being about half full which is amazing compared to the others. My only criticism would be to replace the battery image bar with a percentage so you know exactly how much battery is left but that's a minor thing. Overall 10/10, can't fault it so far.
