This workout is broken down into five high intensity circuits designed to burn calories and simulate the intensity of a fight -- full-body exercises performed one after another with little rest in between. Train your chest, back, arms and legs at an elevated heart rate. Gain strength, lean out, and resist fatigue in less time for the best physique of your life. Train beside GSP and find out what intensity really means. This strength conditioning video gives you first hand access to the secret training approach of a champion. In 45 minutes a day, you will perform, feel and look better than ever! Review: Great workout video, needs more George less of the other Guy! - The Pros: * The workout is not a bunch of women in tights doing dance like aerobics to 80's sounding music, like 99% of workout videos. Dont get me wrong, it's for men and women, but a lil more biased towards men. * The workout is challenging. So challenging that you can see George struggling through it. It's kinda cool because unlike most videos where the star of the video is breazing through the exercises, George doesn't have these moves down, and as he admits profusely. * George says that this kind of training is his weak area so he's pushing with you. This video should have been named inside GSP's conditioning class, because the Trainer Eric Owings is really pushing George. * It helped me to realise that I am mildly Sado Masochistic, any self realization is a personal pro for me sorry if it's TMI. I say Sadist, because I enjoy seeing George suffer, The french accent and the clear pain and discomfort is "great". Masochistic because I am looking forward to pushing myself through it. * It is a very complete program in that it is broken down into 3 important components; a warmump, a challenging workout, and flexbility based cool down. * The video makes you feel like George's incredible atheltic conditioning is within reach, you know it's not, but it makes you feel like it is. * You get to see Georges attitude when hes doing the excercises. He even talks about how he pushes himself through each excercise as if his life depended on it. Now granted you may not want to adopt this attitude but it's good to see it at work. * There is another part of the video called foundation moves, that walks you through all of the excercise, how to do them, and how to modify them if necessary. * Production quality of the video is excellent, and it constantly shows you a clock to let you know were you are in the workout. * The workout doesnt require alot of space or alot of equipment. In fact all you need are a set of 10-15lb dumbbells, determination, and a dont quit attitude. Though not necessary a masseuse would be a really great extra. The Cons: * Georges doesn't speak enough in the video. I was hoping to hear a French guy with bad English yelling at me to keep pushing through the movements. However, I have to say that if I just saw Erik on the cover and no GSP I may have overlooked the video. * Erik and Georges should have gone over their resumes before this video to put who they are and their skills sets in better perspective. * The verbal exchanges between Geroges and Trainer Erik Owings are not smooth. Owings seems almost codescending at times when George is speaking. They never have natural conversations, e.g. Owings is giving a excercise, George grunts in some commentary, and Owings just moves onto the next excercise with a almost like yeah lets stop wasting time and get to the next exercise type attitude. * They are pushing extra hard to relate all the excercise to fighting. Erik Owings is a pedigree Martial Artist and a seasoned fighter, but in the video it always seems like he is pushing to try to correlate the exercises to real fighting, and he is constantly looking to George for validation and coloring. What is irritating is that the GSP coloring isnt even needed for Erik who is a Gracie Barra black belt, who trained Muay Thai at Fairtex, and fought in the IFL. I am positive Erik is extremely sure what all these exercises do and don't do in a grappling match, the octagon or the ring. The exchanges would have been far more natural if they had talked about their own fights or shown clips of fights in which they had to use movements like sprawls and stand ups or even made reference to what moves help what sort of combative techniques. Don't ge me wrong its a great workout, but IMHO they are over selling the fight aspect of this training a little bit too much in this video. * I know they were trying to make this workout require as little equipment as possible, but I was looking at Kettlebell movements like getups and swings with out kettlebells. Kettlebells are now very affordable and within economic reach of the general public thanks to Walmart, and they could have at least been included in the foundation moves segment of the video. Dumbbells and Kettlebells have different centers of gravity which make the same movements when performed with both pieces of equipment very different. The dumbell movements are great, but I just would have liked to have seen the equivalent Kettlebell movements in the foundations moves segment. Would have been nice to have: * It would have been nice to have seen better progressions for the excercises, during the workout component of the video. They kinda sorta showed the easier variations with the female fitness model, and for those mutants who will do this workout there are no advanced variations for the exercises except for the few that he demonstrated with George. It is important that I add that to make the excerices more challenging they said to increase the tempo and the weight you use to perform the excercises, but none of the fitness models demonstrated this. * The ability to turn off the background music and just keep the vocal instructions in the video, so that you can use your own music for the workout. * This is a 8 week program, and this is just 1 of 6 videos. It would be nice to able to credit this purchase towards the purchase of the whole 8 weeek program. However, I can't complain because this was only $10.00 pre-order, the 4 base videos on the website are only 69.99 and the 8 week program is only $89.99. Summary: If you are a want a challenging, non aerobics type workout video that will help lose weight and improve your overall conditioning and functional strength then this is the video for you. Most important of all the price of this video is so amazingly cheap, that you can not afford not to have it in your workout library. Thanks Georges and Erik! Review: A Great Alternative to P90X - I got into the "muscle confusion" mindset a few years back, when I first tried P90X and found the workout formula I had been seeking for many years. While Tony Horton chatters a bit much in between sets, he's got tremendous enthusiasm and insight, and he and the Beachbody team led the revolution toward home fitness, providing a scientifically-based home program that delivers real results. Having completed the P90X circuit a few times, I started to search for other options, and found a few others (Insanity, Supreme 90) that I liked. But I hadn't found another workout that I absolutely loved until I came upon the RushFit program. The Strength and Endurance workout is but a taste of the overall program, which features seven different workouts that are varied over a 60-day period. George St. Pierre performs each workout with you, and (if you invest the time in some of the other DVD options, which you should) shows you the foundational moves to make sure you're got the right form as you proceed. GSP's trainer Erik Owings runs the show as GSP and two other assistants perform the workouts, and he's ultra-efficient in his style and delivery, keeping things moving at a good pace and lending tremendous instruction throughout. (At times, GSP chimes in and unintentionally slows things down a bit, but his interruptions are tolerable and he comes off as a good and sincere guy.) Interestingly, you'll have one or two cardio days per week with this the program, where you'll have the flexibility to pick your own cardio routine and integrate it into your RushFit workouts. I've used basketball or Insanity as my cardio plug-ins, and they've seemed to complement the RushFit program well. This is a program that will promote lean muscle development and will really challenge your core, as well as engage your entire body. There are three levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) designed to challenge your particular fitness level. With the unique routines, you'll have fun, and you'll see great results in a fairly short period of time. If you don't want to take the plunge on the whole program, this Strength and Conditioning workout is probably the best single DVD to sample. It certainly can be integrated into other workout routines if you choose to customize on your own.

A Great Alternative to P90X

Great workout, but a little too easy
First let me say that I am just an intermediate exerciser and workout to dvds or play sports about 5 times a week. I normally complete workouts from Jillian Michaels, Jessica Smith, Michelle Dozois, etc. and all of those workouts were harder than this one. For instance, I usually use 5 lb dumbells in all my other dvds, but this one was so easy that I had to use my 10 lb weights; something that I never do! I even did the pushup burpees, squats, air squats, etc. at a much faster pace than everyone so I could try and get my heart rate up more. I thought the workout was really fun though and the instructor is good and GSP is really likeable in this dvd. However, it was just too easy. I thought this workout was going to be so difficult and challenging, but I didn't hardly break a sweat and was never breathing heavy. The workout is only a total of 27 minutes and is divided into 5 rounds with breaks in between each round. One really good dvd that I recently purchased that is similar to this workout, but with more of a challenge, is Mike Donavanik's Extreme Burn. I recommend that one if you find this workout to be too easy. Also, another good workout for strength and endurance (the reason why I initially purchased this dvd) is Michelle Dozois' Peak 10 more cardio strength. Overall, this is a great workout it's just more for beginners or beginner-intermediates.

This is a great fitness DVD it will make you stronger in no time and definetly increase your fitness level. The Rushfit workout series is for women as well despite what you may have heard and is very similar to the P90X program but bareable because Eric Owings the trainer in the DVD does a great job explaining the moves and is not annoying like Tony Horton. Rushfit is actually a series of DVDs but i don't think amazon offers all of them on their website. Some moves may be challenging for beginners but you have to give it time and practice the moves. Dumbells are required, I use a combination of 8's, 10's and 12's. I think GSP in the video uses 15's, while the girl in the background uses 5's or 8's it's hard to tell. Great Buy!!!! Add it to your collection.

I purchased the complete set of DVDs. I am in my mid 20's and have tried the p90x and insanity. I work out in the gym 4 to 5 days a week and have a physically demanding job. Rushfit is for real. It is the perfect balance between cardio, strength, and agility. Unlike p90x all you need is a set of weights and an area rug or something to protect the floor( if you have hardwood or laminate. Rushfit will give you a workout that will make you keep coming back for more. I do it at home with my girlfriend and between the video and one another we are motivated to keep going. If you are looking for a well rounded workout, this is it!

GSP doesn't lead the workout, his trainer friend does. GSP participates in the workout and adds his personal input but other than this, the workout video is by the trainer not by GSP. The only way this is selling is due to GSP endorsement. I would not recommend this to anyone. Will be selling it at my garage sale for $1.
