Zircon StudSensor A150 Wall Scanner and Center/Edge Locating Stud Finder with WireWarning Detection and Signal Strength Indicator, Center Finding

Bought this as saw a review of it on the Internet that compared a selection of stud finders, this did very well compared to some of the units that were four times more expensive. I am an occasional DIYer so for the occasional use to price ratio this was right on the money

I hate stud sensors and stopped trusting them but you can’t spend all the time in the world trying to find screw heads with a magnet or trusting builders to put studs at 16” on center. I’ve hung a big TV and a climbing hangboard with this and it’s proven itself as being accurate and reliable. I would recommend. It does a good job of displaying the spot to mark for the center of the wood not like the older styles that only beep at the edges.

Great stud finder that also will show you where there are electrical wires. Used this to place another electrical outlet up higher on the wall for my wall mounted TV. Was very accurate in finding the stud and let me know there was a live wire right next to the stud so that I didn't cut into the wire when cutting the hole in the sheetrock. Easy to use, screen is easy to read, works well. Great buy!

Got it for work. Have an older cheaper model for home use. This product doesnt do its job. Followed all the directions, let it calibrate, and it did not detect any studs in my wall. Used the older one, worked fine. Also came in weird packaging, just a unbranded cardboard box with bubble wrap and instructions, like it had been removed from its original packaging. Do not buy this. Not sure if its the supplier or this particular model but it doesn't work, not worth the money. Zircon stuff is usually good. Not this.

Excellent tool

It's very accurate if you are doing standard sheet rock thickness. I was trying to find stud boards behind a one piece fiberglass shower to install handicap bars which requires a stud for the long screws. It couldn't find them due to the space of the shower back to the studs. I did get the job done by sensing the studs above the shower on the sheetrock and drawing a straight line down.
