A great tool!
I bought the hard wire cutter because the product description said it would cut 0.028-inch hard wire. I use it to cut 0.025-inch piano wire for my model railroad turnout throw wires and it works perfectly. The cutting edge of most cutters is damaged when you try to cut piano wire or other hard wire, but not these. These cutters remain unblemished and make a clean cut every time. I have bought two more cutters for friends as a gift.

Just awful. But a beautiful piece of art.
These are extremely strong, made out of extremely high quality metal. They are made out of metal that is better than 99% of all tools. They are real stainless steel and they have real carbide teeth. I tried filing the teeth and the file won't even scratch the carbide teeth on these. The problem is, these cutters are absolute trash. The cutting edges aren't filed and shaped properly. They are dull. They are so dull, it's almost impossible to cut a single piece of soft 16 gauge stranded, wire. I tried cutting various things, and it feels like you have to put about 10 times harder to make a cut than using a regular small wire cutter. The blades just aren't sharpened properly. They come together very evenly, and the metallurgy is extremely good. The brazing joints look really good, in fact, flawless. But the cutting edges are not filed correctly, and therefore these are totally useless. You might as well just buy larger "beveled" cutters that are hardened. You can buy a set of hardened Knipex bevel cutters for $40 that will cut hard wire without any problem. For $10.99, I am definitely keeping these. I can't imagine that anyone could make something this beautiful for $10.99. They are a bargain. I am probably going to buy a couple more pair. These need to be heavily modified in order to work well. But once modified, they would be equivalent to $150 cutters. The modifications these need are: 1.) Set screw needs to be drill and tapped and added just behind the cutter edges, so set the depth of the cut, to prevent smashing the blades together and possibly chipping the hard carbide teeth. 2.) These need to be filed with a diamond file, sand paper, a stone, or a grinder (or whatever else you have that is harder than a file). They could be brought to a sharpening store, and professionally sharpened. I suspect that if you sharpened these to "flush cutters" they would be very good for electronics work or small wires. A small bevel could be left for cutting harder wires and dental wires. Making them too sharp could weaken the metal, so don't over sharpen them.

Worked perfectly
My braces were slicing my inner cheek , these worked perfectly to clip the end. It took 3 seconds and I was driving because I couldn’t take it anymore lol

Good to trim the wire of my braces
I purchased this instrument because I have a braces, and as the time goes by-and every time I tighten my braces- I have these sharp edges that cut my cheeks and cause canker sores- this was so uncomfortable - and when I call my dentist , she always asks me to cut the wires with a sanitized nail clippers, -which never worked-until I bought this instrument from Amazon, which I found very easy and safe to use- needs to be cleaned and sanitized before and after each use, I personally wash it with dish soap and burn it with a candle for few seconds. I’m glad I made this purchase, worth the price.

Probably Better for Very Thin Wires
I purchased these because the wires of my braces are constantly slipping out of place and, since I attend college in a different state than where my orthodontist is located, I would have to wait months to have it fixed. They arrived earlier than expected and seem to be decent quality, I have no complaints about that. Problem is, I think the wire I needed to cut is thicker than a regular braces wire, plus it was sticking out in the very back of my mouth, so it was quite a struggle. It took multiple attempts of me squeezing the pliers extremely hard to cut the wire, and I ended up tearing up my cheek pretty bad, but eventually they got the job done. I do think if you have more standard wires, these will work like a charm, but they still do work for thicker wires so long as you have some patience.

Doesn't cut flush, doesn't have an angle, rusts
I know it's hard to expect a lot for this price, however this product is complete trash. It does not cut flush, for zip ties, even the free flush cutters I got with an electronics kit do twice as good of a job. It has no angle to it, which I didn't think was a big deal until I finally used cutters that don't and come to find out how annoying it is to align it flat with whatever you're cutting each time. And after about a week of having it, I started noticing faint specs of rust creeping in on the so called "stainless". I think this was a throwaway product that failed Q.C. somewhere that someone is just trying to unload. Don't waste your money or time on this, it may look pretty, but it doesn't perform.

Does not cut Stainless Steel Wire well
I ordered these because they specifically said that they are good for hard wire. I need a precision tool for jewelry making but I cut a lot of small stainless steel links. Other more affordable cutters get mangled so I opted to pay more for something more durable. Unfortunately it does not cut any better than the cheaper ones. The chain I am cutting is only .4-.5mm thick. Bummed and back on the search.
