The Listerine Total Care Kids Mouthwash is perfect for children. It’s alcohol-free, gentle, and doesn’t burn, which makes it easy for kids to use every day. I love that it’s ADA accepted and contains fluoride to help prevent cavities. The flavor is kid-friendly, and my kids actually enjoy using it. A great addition to their daily oral care routine — highly recommend!

I’m an older adult (!), and my dental hygienist recommended this mouthwash for my daily use about 5 years ago. I had been using another product (for adults), and following my next cleaning appointment, she suggested using this one instead. It prevents plaque build-up, promotes healthy gums, protects against cavities, and has a pleasant taste. I’ve had nothing but good dental check-ups ever since I started using this product.

Kid friendly taste, dentist recommended. A non minty/burn mouthwash that both kids like. Also, came recommended by the dentist for use while using Invisalign for cavity prevention.

My daughter swears by this flavor. She hates the bubble gum flavor (which is by far the most common for kids mouthwash), and is indifferent towards mint, but loves this berry. And if that gets her to use it regularly, it's a big win!

I bought Listerine Smart Rinse for Kids (Berry Splash) for my 11-year-old son as a way to add a fluoride rinse to his nightly dental routine. From a functional standpoint, it does its job. It is alcohol free, does not burn, and leaves the mouth feeling cleaner than brushing alone. I like that it contains fluoride and helps reach areas brushing can miss, and the visual feedback when spitting it out helped reinforce better brushing habits, especially early on. That said, there are practical and design issues that stood out in regular use. The flavor is very sweet and artificial, closer to bubble gum or cough medicine than a clean or neutral taste. My son tolerates it, but it is not something he enjoys using. The heavy dye is another drawback. It temporarily stains the tongue and teeth blue and leaves visible residue in the sink if not rinsed immediately. The bottle itself is also somewhat awkward. While my 11-year-old can handle it without issue, I can easily see younger or smaller children needing help. The bottle is relatively heavy when full, and flipping it upside down to dispense the rinse can lead to spills if a child does not have good grip or control. From a safety standpoint, this is not a product I would leave fully unattended for younger kids. Children should be supervised to ensure they measure the correct amount, do not swallow the rinse, and rinse the sink immediately after use to avoid staining. For product design, a few changes would significantly improve usability. A lighter bottle, a flatter or angled bottle mouth instead of a round opening, and a more controlled dispensing system would reduce spills and make it easier for smaller hands to use independently. Overall, the rinse works and is gentle enough for kids, but the artificial flavoring, heavy coloring, and bottle design limit its appeal. It may be suitable for older children who can handle it responsibly, but for younger kids, assistance and supervision are definitely recommended.
