HECASA Upper Hood w/Fuel Door Compatible with John Deere 4500 4510 4600 4610 4700 4710 Replacement for LVU12063

I got this to replace the hood on my '03 John Deere 4610. My tractor has sat in the sun for 20 years and the plastic is finally becoming brittle and breaking - which is what happened to my hood. The Good: -This hood fit perfectly -The price is less than half the JD OEM replacement The Bad: -The plastic is cheaper feeling than the OEM hood, but serviceable -The bolts on my tractor were rusted and difficult to remove - recommend using brake cleaner on the bolts -As this hood is brand new and my tractor is old and sun faded, the hood really stands out as being new and doesn't match the rest of the tractor. No fault of the manufacturer Overall: 5 stars so far. I don't care about the looks of the tractor, just the functionality - which in this case is to protect the engine. It does just that. The replacement took me about 30 minutes, not because it was technically difficult, but because my bolts were rusted and tough to break free - especially while working on it from an awkward angle, which is required with this replacement.

Looks good and fits well. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the springs for the fuel door. Almost impossible to install and no directions. Did away with them and used a Velcro enclosure underneath the cap to secure.

Fits great and was packaged well so no damage. Just remember it’s plastic so don’t over torque the fasteners. The fuel door springs that came with the new hood didn’t fit so I used the ones off the old hood.

This was a very different designed fuel door attachment than my original equipment hood and door. The springs do work when installed correctly though. Put the long hooks on the fuel door then put the door on the hood and tape it down from the top side and turn the hood over to install the springs on the hood side mounting slot from the under side. You'll have to tweak the hook open a bit then pinch it back in place after you get it sprung in place.

Do not order this product, it is virtually impossible to attach the fuel door. It comes with springs that have a closed loop that need to be attached to a closed loop on the plastic hood.

It looks, feels, and install satisfactorily, although it is NOT quite a full fit, especially around the front where it is supposed to lock. Unit came somewhat scratched. Luckily, I was able to rub them almost away. It would be quite a headache to return it. It is still a good price and quick delivery.
