Nearly Perfect...
What a great idea - a cordless tyre inflator, and made by Makita too - gotta be quality, right? Yes - it is and no, it isn't. Does it inflate tyres easily? Yes - effortlessly and reasonably quickly. BUT - you have to keep your finger on the trigger to keep the air flowing. Makita - if you're listening, you need to amend this. Set the required PSI on the very clear LCD screen, press the button and go. Very useful LED which does come in very handy on dark mornings/evenings. The other drawback is that the LCD readout isn't always accurate. Keeping your finger on the trigger causes the readout to suggest you've achieved your desired pressure. Releasing your finger will reveal the actual pressure - usually well below where you think you're at. Unit does cut out when it reaches the desired pressure but then reapplying finger will result in more air being used. Not brilliant. But a good bit of kit if you already have the batteries. Not cheap either.

Decent
Bought this for trackdays in my car just received it today so I’ve tested it. As usual with makita it feels very robust and a quality item. The noise from it wasn’t so loud although you wouldn’t use it in the middle of the night with the neighbours When I tested it I set it at 25psi and it takes it to 27.5psi before automatically stopping which is ok as I just let 2.5psi out then it’s right. The pressure gauge on this was coming up 0.5psi out which ain’t bad either. The cheaper model you can use it for 5mins then you have to rest it for 5mins whereas this model you can use for 10mins and rest it for 5mins which for me is much better. The air connection that is chained on to it I have to say is next to USELESS. you need to buy a connector that just clips on plus you don’t lose any air taking the hose off the wheel. Also it doesn’t seem to use much battery up which was a surprise. I may update this after my first trackday which is soon. Also don’t forget to register this on line within 30 days of buying it to get your 3 year warranty that’s always worth having. UPDATE on further testing this I’ve found rather than waiting for it to stop itself which gives you 2.5lb over just stop it yourself at whatever you need then it’s bang on. Or if you prefer to keep the button down with something and do it that way just set the pressure 2.5lb less than you want. I put 25psi in my tyres for my track car and just set it at 22.5 and it’s right. This is a hundred times better than them 12v things. If you have the battery and charger then go for it. Even if you don’t have the battery and charger I would recommend it as you only need a low ah battery

A bigger car, so a bigger pump.
I have one of their smaller compressors, butbgetting a much bigger people mover I thought it would be sensible to get one a bit larger this one has a button to press to reduce pressure in it, which is cool. The button is mainly needed as this has a screw on type fitting, much more secure, I much prefer it, but harder to use to deflate tyres. It's not hard to have something in the valve but you would then have to scre on the valve again to check, so much better this way. It's a chunky one!

Great product. Works incredibly well. Beware, some of the other Makita ones are less powerful.
