Definitely worth it!
Works perfectly! It’s very accurate, and super easy to use I love all the different settings it has for all types of meats, and the magnets are super convenient definitely a good price for a great product!

Rock-Solid Wireless Range, No App Required
Sometimes you just want to grill without fiddling with your phone, and the ThermoPro TP829 is exactly that kind of tool. Ease of Use Setup is straightforward—no apps, no pairing headaches, just probes and a receiver. The display is clear and the range is impressive; I can wander around the house and still keep tabs on the cook. Performance Accuracy has been consistent, and the 1000ft wireless claim holds up surprisingly well in real use. The probes feel sturdy and handle longer cooks without issue. Price & Value At this price point, it’s hard to beat. It’s a simple, effective system that gives you freedom from standing at the grill. That said, I already find myself eyeing the wireless-probe models just for the convenience of fewer wires. Bottom Line If you want a dependable, affordable wireless thermometer that doesn’t tie you to an app, this is an excellent choice. Great starter unit—with enough performance to keep most grillers happy.

Worked perfectly right out of the box
I used this wireless meat thermometer right out of the box to temp my smoked turkey while it was cooking. This is a high quality product and it was easy to use without looking at the directions. I loved the wire wrap and the remote unit that allowed me to work in my kitchen while the turkey cooked outside. The bird was done perfectly at 160. The unit is easy to read and use.

Excellent Multi-probe Thermometer -- Only One Complaint
I have been using a couple of single-probe thermometers for many years. I always thought it would be nice to own a multi-probe unit, and even better to have one that didn't keep me "anchored" to the grill (or oven) to monitor the readings. I hopped on Amazon to look at the multi-probe thermometers. I first looked at the Bluetooth style, but found, in the reviews, that if you get out of range, the Bluetooth disconnects and can clear your readings. I also looked at some WIFI units, but I was hesitant to add another IoT device, especially wondering about the security practices of companies that are in the thermometer business. So I decided to go with an RF unit, and landed on the ThermoPro TP829. It has many nice features, including: -- 4 probes -- a small "base" unit that the probes attach to -- a larger handheld receiver/controller unit that you can carry with you to set the meat type or desired "done" temperature for each probe -- both the base unit and receiver/controller unit have fold out stands -- the system has a 1000 foot range -- nothing has to be installed on your WIFI -- there is no app to install on your phone I used the system today to cook a large package of chiken thighs on the grill. It was very easy to set up, and it worked very well. The thighs came out just right and were tender and juicy. So that's all of the good stuff, now for my one complaint... The receiver/controller has magnets on the back; however, the base unit has NO magnets, which is inconvenient for the piece that is supposed to be out at the grill. I know that many gas grills have side shelves, so you can stand it up or lay it down on one of those, but there are other grills that do not have that. I don't quite understand why they went through the trouble to put magnets on the receiver/controller that you carry with you, but did not put any on the base unit that is at the grill. Perhaps it's because the cases are made of plastic and they are worried about you sticking it to the side of a hot grill, IDK. But the other single-probe thermometers I have DO have magnets on the back and parts of those cases are plastic. Anyway, for my use, I had some magnetic tape strips, so I cut some to size and now my base unit also has magnets on the back. Aside from that one complaint, I still give this system 5 stars, and I highly recommend it!

Updated: and updated again. I really like it.
Updated again. I cant live without this thing. I used it just about every day for a couple of months straight. Then once or twice a week smoking and charcoaling. It still works like new and it still has the same batteries in it. Today im trying it out in the oven. I should have been using it in the oven all this time. It works great in the oven. The little bulge in the battery cover still annoys if i notice it. I dont notice it very often. Im upping it to a 4 star. Update: It works really good. Its nice to kick back and not have to get up and check my food all the time while its smoking. I was able to get the manual online pretty easy. Im still not happy about the way the batteries pop up and cause the battery cover to bulge out. Anything that cost more than a dime should have better battery connector than this has. When the package showed up from UPS the bottom was dirty. At first I thought it may have sat in water but I think it may have been at the bottom of the pile of other boxes. The bag ripped open too easy, like it was dry rotted or maybe sliding around on the ground made the package thinner. Both ends of the box was open. The bottom of the box felt like it had a layer of dirt on it. The thermometer was still in good shape with no noticeable damage. When i put the batteries in, the first one snapped in. The positive end had an indention that it slid into and fit snug. The second battery pops back up. where the positive in slides in, instead of indention in the metal there was a nipple. So, you have the positive end of the battery with a nipple, butting up against another rounded nipple. The battery just pops up. Its the same on both receivers. It makes the battery cover slightly bulge. Im afraid if it pushes the battery cover out far enough and i dont notice it, then moisture could get in. There is no manual in the box. I found a little red tag that had the manufacturers information. This should have been labeled "like new" instead of "new". With the packaging issues and the lack of instruction manual and battery that pops up. It gets a 3 star.

I already have a ThermoPro instant read that I have had for years and replaced the battery several times. It's been my go to and always accurate. I recently upgraded my smoker to a Traeger and with the larger cooking space, decided to get a remote unit that can provide multiple readings. My Traeger does have a thermometer and the ability to check on their app, however it's only one and sometimes I cook different cuts so having the dual probe is convenient. I have to admit, this unit has everything I need and more. It works great and is accurate. I can set alerts, timers, and it has built in (default) temp goal settings that you can also edit to suit your needs. It's been a real time saver and let's me accomplish other tasks and not baby-sit and have to check in often. Unfortunately after a few uses, the one temperature probe didn't read correctly. I did some tests with both probes and the instant read. One of the probes is off by 50F. No idea why, but it's defective. My window for a return/replacement by Amazon was out by 3 days so now I'm not sure what my options are. I emailed ThermoPro, explained what happened, included the readings and results of my tests, and that I was out 3 days for a replacement through Amazon. I downloaded a copy of my receipt for proof and then asked what I had to do for a replacement temperature probe. I didn't expect much but thought it was worth a try. To my surprise, I had a response back from ThermoPro customer service the same day! They asked me to verify my address so they could ship out a replacement. After I confirmed, there was an email the following day with shipment details. A few days later, I received not just the replacement probe but an extra one as well! I tried the new one out and it works exactly as the other original one. We're in an era where many companies aren't interested in customer service, and make it difficult to contact them if you have any questions or issues. This was such a positive experience and made me feel like my business with them was valued. I will 110% be endorsing ThermoPro products to anyone I know and in future, will be purchasing from them again. I don't usually spend the time to write up reviews especially ones this detailed. I am happy to provide this review and I wish I could upvote and add more stars than 5. If the ThermoPro TP826 isn't the unit for you, I recommend you consider some of their other offerrings. Their products are well built, packed with features, and their customer service is some of the best I've experienced in years. Well done ThermoPro and thanks so much for taking the time to help me resolve my (minor) issue!!!!

This thermometer set is great if you don't want something connected to your phone. It simply just works. There's no need to pair it (although there are included instructions if for whatever reason it gets unpaired). The reason I got this particular set is because it has a high/low setting where it will alarm if the temp gets too high or too low on your smoker. It's great for an overnight cook so you can monitor if there are any issues, saving you from waking up to cold meat on your smoker. The two probes are great for your meat and your smoker but if you think you'll have more than one piece you might want to look to upgrading to a model that has more probes.
