My First Climbing Shoe
The media could not be loaded. In love with these so far!Based on reviews and sizing at my local climbing gym(rental shoes, same brand but different style)- I bought these shoes at a size 9 US women and 42 EUR- I am a comfortable 8.5 US street shoes if wide enough for my feet otherwise I size up to size 9 US- At gym I grab the 9.5 size...no idea what sizing that is based on...I was fully anticipating having to get the 9.5 size after I noticed more what felt right at the gym. But these literally were the first shoes that I’ve tried on that felt like, the “fits like a glove” analogy, and they also follow the advice of “tight but not painful”. I have good movement in my toes with a perfect little crimp in there too.I haven't climbed in them yet but I fully anticipate them being amazing and if not, I’ll update this review but so far 10 out of 10And they’re cute

Good for beginners
I am a street size 8.5 Women’s (Nike, Under Armour running shoes), wear an 8 in Converse, and opted for a size 9 in the Butora Endeavors.I initially was thrown off by the sizing, because the rental shoes at my gym fit me snugly from anywhere between a size 6.5 to size 8 (in their women’s rental climbing shoes). I trusted the reviews and sized up a half size from my usual street shoe. The fit at first was TIGHT. It was tough, and I felt like maybe I had gotten the wrong shoe, but just barely - my toe pressed right up against the front of the shoe and caused some discomfort, but not pain. After a few days of 1-2 hour bouldering sessions (I’m talking V0 and V1s, super beginner climbs) they started to feel more like the rental shoes, but with rubber that hadn’t been stripped away by endless renters being hard on them. My ability to stay on the wall became 100x better - any failure at that point was certainly mine, and not the shoe.I’ve been climbing in these exclusively now for about 2 months. I wore socks with them at the beginning to help try and stretch them out a little quicker. Let me tell you - the hemp lining does NOT allow for a huge stretch like I hear most leather shoes do over time. I went sans-sock after about two weeks, and I’m glad I did. The leather has shifted just enough to hug my feet like a glove, but the stretching was minimal. I anticipate the size they are now will be the size they stay until I have to retire them. My shoes are still in beautiful shape - the sharp edge they had out of the box is still prominent, the toe rubber is still sticky, and the heel is virtually unscathed.Compared to my friend’s Black Diamond starter shoes, mine DO NOT SMELL at all - and I have notoriously smelly feet. His shoes are getting to the point that he keeps Odor Eaters in them. Big plus for me.As a final note, I don’t have especially narrow feet, nor especially wide feet - I was unsure of which way to go and no one local had Butoras to try on- I opted for the narrow and am glad I did. I think by “narrow” they sorta mean “narrow for a man’s foot.”

Very comfortable, great all around shoe.
These are amazingly comfortable! I trusted the size chart and recommendations and they were right on. They felt great right out of the box and are a perfect all around shoe for my purposes. I have worn them in the gym and at the crag and they have performed just fine. They edged better than I expected, but not as well as my Evolv Kiras. They are great for smearing and are perfect for a long day of training at the gym, or a nice long multipitch climb. I really like the sensitivity, I know exactly where my foot is on a hold or a rock and it helps with some precision. Loved them on Yosemite slab and crack. If you are looking for a shoe that can do everything while keeping your feet super comfortable, I highly recommend these. They may not excel at super technical stuff, but for an every day climb, or a long day of climbing, they are great. I'm not an amazing climber yet as I've only been at it for 2 years, but I have sent 5.10c's and worked 5.11a's in them.

Wide width shoes that fit!
Finally!!! Shoes that fit. I have wide feet and bunions, to make things worse. These are a true to size as far as wide width. I wear size 8W in all street shoes. I ordered size 9. They were not long enough. I placed them sole to sole with my Hushpuppy flats, and they were shorter. I ordered 9 and a half. When they arrived, once again, I placed them sole to sole with my flats and they matched up perfectly. The width is perfect and the length is perfect. I prefer not to have my toes crushed into the toe compartment of climbing shoes. They fit snuggly, but I don't have to curl them to wear this shoe. I hope this helps others to decide what size to order. They are absolutely wonderful!

They are still small for a size 10. Normal I’m a 9.5 wide
I didn’t wear the shoes aside from trying on for sizing but I think these still run kinda small. I’m a 9.5 wide women’s and bought the 10s thinking I’d have extra space. Returned because they were way too small to wear

Good shoe
It took a couple tries to get the right size but very happy with these now. One full size bigger than my street shoes and they're still the right kind of snug. These are just for indoor bouldering, for now anyway.

Truly terrible sizing
They really aren't kidding when they say you should size up. Originally bought my street size and could barely even stand in the shoes. Reached out to customer service for advice on sizing and got no reply. Went up a half size hoping for uncomfortable-but-not-painful tightness and they are still flat out painful. Tried wearing them for a month to see if I could break them in or build up calluses, but as promised the lined hemp does not stretch out at all, no matter what. I probably need a full size above my street size but I feel like I've worn them enough that this isn't an option at this point. Not really sure why butora would choose to size their shoes in such a confusing way... why not just call the 10 a 9? I love the styling and the fit around my heel/arch is perfect, but the toe area is either too short or too shallow for my toes to fit :/
