Sengled Smart Edison Bulbs WiFi Amber Warm ST19 4pk

DO NOT buy these WiFi bulbs. They worked for a while with Alexa. Then we got a notification from Amazon that Sengled is having issues with the software of these. They are fine with the wall switch, but nothing with Alexa. Sengled has no response to my inquiry. Amazon is not offering a solution either. Bluetooth bulbs are fine.

I initially loved these Sengled Wi-Fi Smart Light Bulbs. I bought a 2-pack to try them out, and over time, ended up purchasing a total of 12 bulbs to use throughout my home—in the office, bedrooms, living room, and dining room. Controlling them with Alexa was a dream. Being able to say things like “Alexa, dim the living room lights to 40%” or schedule the bedroom lights to fade off at night was both convenient and impressive. The brightness was excellent for our needs, and the dimming feature worked beautifully.However, the setup process was always a bit finicky. Connecting the bulbs to Wi-Fi often took some patience, and anytime we had a power outage or the bulbs randomly disconnected (which happened more than it should), we’d have to go through the entire setup process again using the Sengled app. That was a minor annoyance—until the app stopped working entirely.For the past two months, the Sengled app hasn’t functioned at all. That means we can't add, remove, or reconfigure any bulbs. Worse, the bulbs no longer respond to Alexa, which completely defeats the purpose of buying smart bulbs in the first place. And what makes this even more frustrating is that Sengled’s customer support is virtually nonexistent. A quick look around the web shows many other users in the same situation—stuck with smart bulbs that are no longer smart and with no help from the company.Functionally, when they worked, I would’ve rated these 4 stars. But with the app now completely down and no way to control the bulbs, they’re essentially expensive paperweights. I can’t recommend these at all anymore. We’ll now have to replace every single bulb with a more reliable brand. Disappointed is an understatement.

Don’t waste your money. It’s not compatible with Alexa and Sengled’s server is unreliable.

I tried a Senled Bluetooth bulb and this Senled WiFi bulb with Alexa. WiFi bulbs are much cheaper. Both, ultimately, work well and seamlessly with Alexa, at least in my simple setup of lightbulbs in rooms where an Echo is nearby and wifi is strong.The Bluetooth bulb set up easily. Screw it in, tell Alexa to discover new devices, and bang, you're done. That particular bulb also has a color-changing feature that's fun and useful, because you can not only change colors through the spectrum but also adjust the color temperature of the white light. I recommend that bulb, Dimmable LED Bulb A19 E26 Multicolor.This bulb, the WiFi version, is more complicated to set up. You must download an app and open an account. Then grant various permissions to the app before you can use it. The Senled skill has to be enabled on your Alexa. Then you can set up the bulb in the app, which is straightforward but redundant if you plan to control the light exclusively through Alexa. You've already set up your rooms, zones, scenes, or whatever with Alexa, so why must you do it again for Senled? But you do.But if you're comfortable with this sort of thing it's easy enough, and when you're done the bulb will work with Alexa just as your others do. The 60W-equivalent light is as bright as expected, and is a pleasant soft-white color that's pretty standard for indoor lighting.Obviously the other disadvantage of the WiFi model is that it requires your wifi to be working, but that's also true of systems that use external hubs, so it's hardly a big deal. But the Bluetooth one just needs your Echo to be powered up, even if wifi is down.IMO, the onetime setup hassle is worth it for the much lower cost and, of course, adding more WiFi bulbs is much simpler since you've already done the work.Bottom line: It's a great thing that you can use your Echo and these quite inexpensive smart bulbs to achieve voice-controlled lighting so easily and cheaply.

I didn’t expect to be this excited about light bulbs, but here we are.I picked up these Sengled vintage-style bulbs mainly for their look — that warm amber glow and old-school filament aesthetic is exactly the mood I was going for in our front room. What I didn’t realize was how quickly they’d become one of my favorite smart home upgrades.Setup was surprisingly smooth. I had them connected to WiFi and responding to voice commands in under 10 minutes — no hub required, no drama. Now I can dim the lights, turn them on or off, or set them on a schedule just by talking to Alexa. That might sound like a small thing, but when your hands are full (which they often are), voice control becomes less of a novelty and more of a necessity.They’re bright enough for everyday use, but soft and cozy enough that I actually want to leave them on in the evenings. It’s like they were designed to make your house feel a little more like home — warm, relaxed, and just the right kind of old-school cool.Also worth noting: I’ve had zero connection issues since installing them, which is more than I can say for some other smart bulbs I’ve tried.In short: they look amazing, they’re easy to use, and they genuinely make the room feel better. Can’t ask for much more than that from a light bulb.
